It\u2019s that time of year again, October which means Halloween! Time for orange pumpkins, fall colors all around, and black cats.\u00a0\u00a0Traditionally\u00a0Halloween is orange, but this year, let\u2019s green Halloween. There\u2019s no better way to celebrate your Halloween than with an awesome green Halloween costume party. \u00a0So here’s some awesome ideas to have a great green Halloween party!<\/p>\n

Green Halloween Costumes<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

If you’re having a green Halloween party, it has to be a costume party! A great green Halloween idea is a costume swap!\u00a0Saturday, October 13 is\u00a0National Costume Swapping Day<\/a>! \u00a0Check out sites like\u00a0greenhalloween.com<\/a>\u00a0or look around for local costume swapping parties.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re not a fan of costume swapping, consider making a costume out of the clothes you already own. If you have to buy clothes for your green Halloween costume, be sure to buy clothes that\u2019ll be useful long after Halloween has passed.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also tons of costumes you can make out of cardboard or other green materials too. A cardboard box can be anything if you use a little creativity. Zippy, Sparkle, and I like to use eco-bubble to create our costumes. Sparkle and I went as mermaids last year, and Zippy<\/a> always goes as a super hero in his eco-bubble costume. At the end of the night, give out green Halloween awards for the most creative costume, best homemade costume, best use of cardboard in a costume!<\/p>\n\n

What\u2019s a green \u00a0Halloween party without sweets? In the spirit of Halloween, have organic\u00a0candy and honey sticks in lieu of tradition candies as snacks. Maybe bake up some yummy pumpkin pie treats<\/a> and decorate them with a Halloween theme.<\/p>\n

Purchase locally grown pumpkins from a nearby market. Make sure to utilize each part of the pumpkin. Make some tasty treats like salted pumpkin seeds or even making a pumpkin pie (if you\u2019ve got the time.) Check out some of these awesome ideas for pumpkin dishes<\/a>!<\/p>\n

No green Halloween party is complete without spooky and fun decorations! Consider making your own or reusing what you already own. A cardboard box can easily be made into a scary tombstone decoration; use old packing paper, old white sheets, or pillowcases to make ghosts!
