Seattle is a major port city \u2013 which basically means that a lot of boats go in and out, delivering people and goods to the shores of Seattle, Washington. A city bordered by water, Seattle has a gorgeous waterfront populated with shops, restaurants, and even a giant ferris wheel \u2013 the Seattle Great Wheel<\/a>! Seattle is rich in history and has many famous natives like guitar legend Jimi Hendrix, TV\u2019s original Batman, Adam West, and of course Seattle institution Microsoft’s <\/a>founder, Bill Gates.<\/p>\n

Seattle is very big on being environmentally conscious<\/a>. You bring your own bags<\/a> to the supermarket, you drive fuel economy friendly cars, and you recycle<\/a>. Seattle is the ultimate green living destination \u2013 because of all that rain, everywhere you look is green! All that green really gets in your head and inspires you to live a healthy, fulfilling lifestyle. You can get some grub for that healthy lifestyle at the famous Pike\u2019s Place Market.<\/a> Local Seattle fisherman tossing the fresh catch of the day back and forth is all good fun \u2013 as is the famous Seattle clam chowder<\/a> in a bread bowl and Rachel, the Seattle pig<\/a>! \u2013 but the real attraction at Pike\u2019s Place is one of the largest locally and nationally sourced fish, fresh fruit and vegetable markets in the Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n

Seattle is also home to some of the most amazing restaurants in the country. Try the chef\u2019s choice menu at Staple and Fancy<\/a> or indulge in the Seattle homage to Hawaiian fare at Ma\u2019ono<\/a>. Then, of course, there\u2019s the Seattle coffee. Home to the first Starbucks<\/a>, Seattle may not have invented coffee, but it sure helped put it on the map! Whether you drink the stuff black in the mornings or enjoy a fancy latte for an afternoon pick-me-up, Seattle has some of the best you\u2019ve ever tasted. (And don’t forget your Top Pot Doughnuts<\/a>!) If you\u2019d rather take your lunch on the go and enjoy some nature, you can pick up an awesome sandwich from Delicatus <\/a>near Pioneer Square and escape\u00a0 to a hidden Seattle gem: the Seattle Waterfall Garden<\/a>! Seattle Sights<\/h3>\n

Seattle is also centrally located near several little island chains. You can take a ferry boat from Seattle to just about\u00a0anywhere around the area! You can visit the Space Needle<\/a> if you really want to \u2013 arguably the most famous landmark in Seattle – but you\u2019ll be way more impressed by the nearby Experience Music Project<\/a> (EMP), showcasing music,\u00a0science fiction, and horror. Then there\u2019s the Seattle Pacific Science Center<\/a>, home to a huge IMAX screen, planetarium shows, and amazing science exhibits! You don\u2019t even have to move to Seattle to behold the wonder of the naked mole rat cam.<\/a> \u00a0Seattle is also home to many beautiful parks; take Green Lake Park<\/a>, a Seattle treasure that boasts a 2.8 mile path around one of the most picturesque lakes in Seattle.<\/p>\n
