Reading about the L.A. Marathon got me thinking about how awesome it would be to run a marathon. But, which one? Training for a marathon requires a lot of commitment. Since I love to find new and interesting ways to keep moving<\/a>, I wanted a marathon that would challenge me but also be fun! It turns out, there\u2019s more to this marathon stuff besides strapping on a sturdy pair of running shoes! I discovered a marathon of marathons that are weird, wacky and wonderful.<\/p>\n

Each marathon on this list was included because it was fun, strange, amazing or a combination of all three!<\/p>\n

10. Braaaaaaaains!<\/strong> Not the typical marathon battle cry, but for this zombie-themed marathon<\/a>, it fits the bill!<\/p>\n

9. Princess power!<\/strong> Disney <\/a>actually has a marathon for every occasion and every person, including one that spans all four parks in Walt Disney World.<\/p>\n

8. Lights out!<\/strong> This Firefly marathon<\/a> takes place in the dark and requires runners to decorate themselves like, well, fireflies.<\/p>\n

7. If you’ve never<\/strong> run in heels<\/a>\u2026 well, it\u2019s probably for the best. But if you want to try, this marathon requires runners strap on a pair and get moving!<\/p>\n

6. Looking for Santa?<\/strong> Even if Mr. Kringle is a no-show, this snowy marathon<\/a> provides plenty of thrills and chills–the weather-related kind, that is.<\/p>\n

5. Philadelphia.<\/strong> That may not sound like a marathon, but that\u2019s because Philadelphia <\/a>hosts a wonderfully weird marathon constantly! (My favorite is the Color Me Rad!)<\/p>\n

4. Man vs. Horse<\/a> <\/strong>seems like a no brainer, but a man has actually won this marathon twice before! That was years ago. The battle for supremacy wages on!<\/p>\n

3. This Great Wall marathon<\/a><\/strong> is, well, great! If you’ve ever wanted to see this wonder of the modern world up close, this is the marathon for you!<\/p>\n

2. The London Marathon<\/a> <\/strong>features a 26.2 mile course, and plenty of silly costumes. It\u2019s probably the only marathon where you\u2019ll see Darth Vader running next to Princess Diana and a caveman.<\/p>\n

1. Muddy Buddy Marathon<\/a><\/strong>! This marathon is my favorite because it\u2019s green<\/a>! Plus, you have to do it with a buddy!<\/p>\n
