I hope everyone’s summer vacation is going well! Vacation is such a great time to relax, get caught up on things and explore new places. I love that last bit. One of my favorite experiences is to get moving<\/a> and see new stuff. Who doesn’t enjoy a getaway, right? Because I’m all about going green<\/a>, I thought it would be fun to look at vacation ideas that are both fun and eco-friendly. Vacation Idea: Sleep in the Trees<\/h2>\n

Have you always been envious of those woodland creatures that get to sleep in beautiful trees? Well, today’s your lucky day! There are actually tons of cool treehouse hotels throughout the world. TreeHouse Point<\/a> in Fall City, Washington lets you make your Pacific Northwest vacation extra special. Treehotel<\/a> in Sweden brings together stunning architecture and design with the beauty of nature. Other awesome treehouse vacation hotels<\/a> can be found in places like Massachusetts, Costa Rica, South Africa, and China.<\/p>\n

Whether you want to catch some rays or speed down the snowy slopes, there’s bound to be a vacation place you’ll love that also loves our planet. If you can’t make it to an eco-friendly spot, you can still be green. During your stay, reuse linens, keep your water use brief and remember to turn off lights and other appliances when you leave.<\/p>\n

Vacation Idea: Choose the Luxury Vacation with a Conscience<\/h2>\n

While the idea of a decadent luxury vacation doesn’t seem very eco-friendly, if you choose the right vacation provider, it can be! Before you book, check if your vacation destination has won a Travel & Leisure Global Vision Award<\/a>, Conde Nast World Saver Award<\/a> or other award that applauds green initiative.<\/p>\n

Not only will you be saving the planet, but you’ll save some green in your wallet, too!
