Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. There are so many ways to celebrate it. It doesn’t always have to be about all you can eat<\/a>. Sometimes it’s fun to set down the fork and pick up the scissors. I like to get crafty and show my thanks by making gifts and decorations. Take a look at some of my favorite Thanksgiving crafts.<\/p>\n

Delicious Decorations<\/h2>\n

Some of my favorite Thanksgiving crafts make great decorations. I like to get together with friends and family to make “thankful” cards. All you need is cardboard paper, markers\/color pencils\/crayons, and some glue\/tape. You can make one for each person and write your thanks\u00a0on the inside. Or write your thanks on the outside and incorporate them into the decoration<\/a> like these paper pumpkins<\/a>. One of the cutest Thanksgiving crafts is this pinecone turkey<\/a>, you can make them as a family and set them around the house. You can even upcycle your popsicle sticks into a scarecrow refrigerator magnet<\/a> or use your leftover eco-bubble to decorate a corn wreath<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Another great thing about Thanksgiving is all the sweet scents that remind you just how thankful you are. This is one of my favorite times\u00a0of year because it’s when all the stores\u00a0release their fall scented candles and oils. I like to combine scented candles\u00a0with coffee beans<\/a> for that cozy “cabin in the woods” smell. What I love even more than that is breathing in the fresh fall air. Get the family together for a scavenger hunt<\/a> and create your own fall scents<\/a> out of natural materials. Bring autumn into your home by creating\u00a0your own holiday simmer<\/a>. Another fun\u00a0way to fill up the house with the crisp scent of autumn\u00a0is to craft your own firestarters<\/a>. All you need is a coffee filter and some spices and herbs. You can keep them for yourself or give them out as gifts.<\/p>\n

Autumnal Adornments<\/h2>\n

Sometimes old habits die hard. You can still get your turkey fix with these fun Thanksgiving turkey crafts<\/a>. Give your friends something to gobble about with this adorable turkey pipe cleaner ring<\/a>. A turkey leg placeholder<\/a> ought to do the trick (turn it into a yummy appetizer by filling it with popcorn). Thanksgiving crafts wouldn’t be complete without the sounds of fall. Capture the woods and harness the power of the wind with your very own homemade fall wind chime<\/a>. There are plenty\u00a0of ways to build a wind chime, and fall offers a lot of material. These are just some of the many ways I like to get crafting for Thanksgiving, but thankfully there’s a cornucopia of crafts<\/a> to choose from.<\/p>\n
