Happy Hanukkah everyone! This year it takes place from December 16 to December 24. Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, celebrates the miracle that took place at the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. The holiday last 8 days to commemorate the original number of days the oil burned for in the new temple. There’s only two days left, but that doesn’t mean the celebration is over. Wondering what you’re going to eat? Take a look at some of my favorite Hanukkah recipes!<\/p>\n

Last Minute Hanukkah Recipes<\/h2>\n

There are so many delicious Hanukkah recipes it’s hard to narrow them down. I have to start of with an old time classic, the Latke! Traditionally <\/a>they’re made from potatoes, but I’ve seen a few modern twists that involved carrots<\/a> and even beets<\/a>! The great thing about latkes is, you never eat them alone. There’s always something to add to them. You can add: applesauce<\/a>, pear sauce<\/a>, sour cream, cinnamon and so much more!<\/p>\n

I can’t talk about Hanukkah recipes without mentioning Sufganiyot<\/a>. For those of you who don’t know a sufganiyah is a delicious deep-fried donut. Typically it’s filled with custard<\/a> or jelly<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0topped with mountains of powdered sugar. Just thinking about it is making me hungry. There’s nothing better than taking that first bite and letting the jelly ooze down your tongue. I can’t wait to enjoy the yummy goodness!<\/p>\n

If we’re keeping it sweet, I have to mention my other, slightly healthier, favorite Hanukkah recipe. I’m talking about apples and honey<\/a> of course! They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away. A little honey helps to sweeten things up. Don’t stop at just apples and honey, mix it up and a make a dairy-free\u00a0pie<\/a> or a tart<\/a>. Whether you like to drizzle or dip, either way you slice it, you can’t go wrong!
