I can&#8217;t believe it&#8217;s almost over. It&#8217;s been a great year, but I&#8217;m looking forward to all the good things to come in 2015. Are you excited for all the New Year&#8217;s celebrations? I know I am. Sparkling cider. Fireworks. Confetti. It&#8217;s enough to get anyone worked up! This year we&#8217;ve made huge progress on the <a title=\"Green Blogs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarmoving.com\/blog\/?s=green\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eco-friendly<\/a> front and I&#8217;m sure next year won&#8217;t disappoint. Let&#8217;s end things on a good note and start the new year off right with a green New Year&#8217;s Eve.<\/p>\n<h2>Go For the Green: Zero Waste Event<\/h2>\n<p>What&#8217;s a zero waste event? It&#8217;s an event that leaves (or comes close to leaving) no waste behind. That means that everything gets reused or recycled! Pretty cool, huh? \u00a0It might sound hard at first and a bit overwhelming, but if you take it one step at a time, it&#8217;s actually quite simple. It&#8217;s as easy as switching from regular confetti and balloons to biodegradable <a title=\"Biodegradable confetti\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ecoparti.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confetti<\/a> and balloons! You can even make your own <a title=\"DIY Biodegradable Confetti\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ehow.com\/how_5921232_make-biodegradable-confetti.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">eco-friendly confetti<\/a>. It can also mean being eco-friendly in your organization and preparations. There are lots of ways this can be done. Try carpooling, taking the bus, biking or even walking to the event to save energy and gas. In Los Angeles we&#8217;ve got tons of <a title=\"LA Bike Trails Blog\" href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarmoving.com\/blog\/2014\/get-moving-las-bike-trails\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bike trails<\/a> and <a title=\"LA Metro Main Site\" href=\"http:\/\/www.metro.net\/riding\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metro routes<\/a>. You can get almost anywhere by bike or bus!<\/p>\n<p>Instead of sending out paper invitations, save a tree and use evites and ecards. Some evite sites even offer ideas and\u00a0brainstorms techniques for upcoming events. You can personalize your invitations or stick with the simple layout. Make an <a title=\"Ecards and Evite Website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.evite.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ecard<\/a> for any occasion or even just to say hello. When buying food for the occasion, try being a little greener and purchasing food grown <a title=\"Farmer's Market Blog\" href=\"https:\/\/www.northstarmoving.com\/blog\/2014\/welcome-fall-farmers-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">locally<\/a>. You can even make <a title=\"Green Party Favors Pinterest\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/search\/pins\/?rs=ac&amp;len=2&amp;q=green+party+favors&amp;term_meta%5B%5D=green%7Cautocomplete%7C0&amp;term_meta%5B%5D=party%7Cautocomplete%7C0&amp;term_meta%5B%5D=favors%7Cautocomplete%7C0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">green party favors<\/a>.
