Hey y’all! You’ve heard about some of the other cool cities in Texas like Austin<\/a>, but how much do you know about Dallas? Texas is full of cowboys and chow, but no place does it better than Dallas. They’ve got dabsters and Jackeroos and good chow and Hullabaloos. Everybody knows that. Let’s take a look at the other side of\u00a0Dallas<\/a> and see what all the racket’s about!<\/p>\n

Get Moving to Dallas for the Food<\/h2>\n

Everything\u2019s bigger in Texas. So you can expect big portions at Bob\u2019s Steak & Chop House<\/a>. Mighty big and mighty delicious. Serving up traditional steakhouse food, Bob\u2019s was ranked in the Top 10 Best Steakhouses in the USA by Gayot.com and was named the Best Steakhouse in Dallas by DMagazine readers for the past 2 years.<\/p>\n

Javier\u2019s Gourmet Mexicano<\/a> does things a little different when it comes to serving traditional Mexican cuisine. They dial it back a bit and turn down the lights. Their hanging plants create a jungle like atmosphere, drawing the customer in while adding a sense\u00a0of allure and mystery.<\/p>\n

Velvet Taco<\/a> is hands down the coolest joint in Dallas. Open late so you can satisfy your late night cravings or grab some grub with the gang after the party. They make everything from scratch and use real fruit in their sorbets and drinks.\u00a0They also cater!\u00a0It doesn’t get any cooler than that.<\/p>\n

Get Moving to Dallas for the Tunes<\/h2>\n

One of my favorite places to visit is the\u00a0Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.\u00a0<\/a>With a mission \u201cto entertain, inspire, and change lives through musical excellence\u201d how can they not be amazing? The Dallas Morning News <\/em>has described their orchestra\u2019s performances as \u201crevelatory\u201d and \u201cexhilarating.\u201d They showcase classic as well as contemporary music throughout the year. This year’s\u00a0upcoming concerts are featuring music from Brahms, Westside Story, and even Disney!<\/p>\n

The Dallas Opera <\/a>produces both chamber and mainstage opera. Their upcoming shows include: La Wally,<\/em> a riveting tale about one man\u2019s attempts to conquer the Austrian Alps and La Boheme,\u00a0<\/em>a story that follows the daily exploits of young artists living in 1840\u2019s Paris. They wouldn\u2019t be an opera house if they didn\u2019t revive Mozart\u2019s The Marriage of Figaro<\/em>. Get moving to Dallas and you can catch all of these performances.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Dallas Museum of Art<\/a>\u00a0has been in operation for over 100 years. It now offers free general admission! I love when you can enjoy good art free of charge. Get moving to Dallas and check out their new Native American Collection or take one of their guided spotlight tours.<\/p>\n

The African American Museum<\/a> houses one the largest African American Folk Art collections in America. The museum contains four galleries and a research library. The museum also includes a theatre and classroom where visitors can learn more about black culture through performances and lectures.<\/p>\n

If you’ve got a hankerin’ for a-hootin n’ a-hollerin then Dallas is the place to be. Don’t dilly-dally any longer.\u00a0Dash on over and join the roundup; get moving to Dallas!<\/p>\n
