Green up and spread the word, Earth Day is just around the corner! I’m so excited! Are you ready for all the great green events coming your way? There are plenty of ways to celebrate Earth Day, from building\u00a0your very own compost bin<\/a> to planting a tree<\/a>. Los Angeles has tons of events taking place, so get out there and paint the town green!<\/p>\n

Nothin\u2019 But Sand Beach Cleanup<\/h2>\n

Head to the beach this Saturday April 18 to participate in <\/span>Heal the Bay’s<\/a>\u00a0Earth Day <\/span>beach cleanup<\/a>. The event takes place\u00a0in <\/span>Santa Monica<\/a> just outside the\u00a0<\/span>Santa Monica Pier Aquarium<\/a>.\u00a0It<\/span>\u00a0will also feature art exhibits, craft areas, a puppet show, and games! Cleanup is from 10am to 12pm. Afterward you can head to the aquarium to see more than 100 species of marine animals! Free admission for those participating in the cleanup.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Children\u2019s Earth Day<\/h2>\n

Make your way to Culver City<\/a> on Sunday April 19 for the\u00a0Children’s Earth Day<\/a>\u00a0festival hosted by\u00a0STAR Eco Station<\/a>.\u00a0The festival will feature live entertainment, vendors, and educational activities and games for children. It will take place from 10am to 4pm. Many celebrity guests are expected to be in attendance including, the casts of Disney’s Liv and Maddie and Nickelodeon’s School of Rock. Best of all the festival is free to the public!\u00a0What a great way to save green while staying green.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Earth Day in Beverly Hills<\/h2>\n

The Beverly Hills Public Works<\/a> presents their 12th annual Earth Day<\/a> celebration. Head to the Farmers Market<\/a> Sunday April 19 for some educational fun. The event takes place from 9am to 1pm.\u00a0It\u00a0encourages people to \u201ctake the lead\u201d on sustainability and conservation. Vendors will host workshops on solar power alternatives, sustainable gardening and composting, and water conservation<\/a>. They will also be giving away water conscious shower timers and compost.<\/p>\n

The fun continues even after Earth Day. The Newport Bay Conservatory<\/a> will be holding their 25th annual Earth Day at the Bay<\/a> event on Saturday April 25 from 10am to 3pm. Attendees will have the chance to participate in a scavenger hunt, create something at one\u00a0craft booth, enter a drawing, and enjoy live music. There will also be several educational presentations and exhibits offering guidance on how to live more a more eco-friendly lifestyle.<\/p>\n
