It\u2019s getting hot, hot, hot! Summer in SoCal is undoubtedly one of the hottest times of year. That doesn\u2019t mean you have to give up on fun, lock yourself indoors and blast the AC until fall comes. Don\u2019t let the long days and rising temperatures fool you. There are tons of ways to beat the heat this summer. Take a look at a few of my favorites.<\/p>\n

Fun Ways to Beat the Heat<\/h2>\n

Get moving to the movies! It\u2019s fun for the whole family when you join the Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse<\/a>. It\u2019s only $1 per show! Cool off inside a nice air conditioned theater while enjoying a flick with the fam.<\/p>\n

Get moving to one of LA\u2019s best ice cream shops<\/a>. Stay green and save some green by making your own homemade ice cream<\/a>. Try these fun<\/a> and unique<\/a> recipes! Shake things up<\/a> and make it in 10 minutes or less, in a bag<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Visit your local library<\/a> or bookstore<\/a>. There are tons of great summer programs for kids<\/a>. Best thing is most of them are free! It\u2019s a great way to beat the heat and keep the kids’ brains from turning to mush over the summer.<\/p>\n

Keep those brains fueled and add to the fun. Take the family out to the museum<\/a>. LA\u2019s got more than a few of them and something for everyone. Appreciate fine art at the Getty or take a stroll through the Huntington\u2019s gardens.<\/p>\n

Beat the heat with these fun recipes like Nutella dipped frozen bananas<\/a> or these ceviche stuffed avocados<\/a>. You can even try out these cool summer drinks<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Get crafty and make your own paper fan<\/a>. You can beat the heat and upcycle<\/a> that old newspaper into something useful.<\/p>\n

You can even beat the heat by changing up the way you eat. A light and healthy meal<\/a> can go a long way when it comes to staying cool.<\/p>\n

Let’s not forget about our furry friends. There’s plenty of ways to help pets beat the heat<\/a> too!<\/p>\n
