However, here are recycling tips that are easy for them to understand.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make It Fun<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-29021 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.northstarmoving.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/pexels-cottonbro-6591429-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Recycling At Home With Kids\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/>Don\u2019t forget the fun factor when recycling at home with kids. Start a contest to see which family member can recycle the most items in a week. Label bins with name tags so it is clearly visible how much each person is recycling.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Play a \u201cRecyclable or Not\u201d game. Fill a bag full of household items. Have your kids reach into the bag and pull out one item. Then, they need to say whether the item is recyclable or not. Give older children a time limit. Hold a \u201cRecycling Art Show\u201d with their creations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Award any contest or game winner with eco-friendly prizes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Get Kids Inspired<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Children love to learn about other kids who are making a difference in the world. Introduce your kids to environmental superhero kids like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teenvogue.com\/story\/15-year-old-activist-greta-thunberg-schooled-world-leaders-climate-change-united-nations-summit\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Greta Thunberg.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> She took on the United Nations in December 2018 with her concerns about climate change and what should be done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also get your kids involved with organizations like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/earthforce.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earth Force<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenkidsclub.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green Kids Club<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kidsforsavingearth.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kids For Saving Earth<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that \u201chelp kids help the earth.\u201d They\u2019ll be more inclined to follow through at home with the first-hand experience that recycling reduces waste and emissions. Some require that items are sorted by material. Some recycling plants also allow you to recycle paper with staples or envelopes with plastic because it eventually gets sorted out. This makes your recycling job much easier.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buy Eco-Friendly<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s a lot easier to recycle when the items you purchase are meant to be recycled. Encourage your whole family to shop smart. Look for products with labels that indicate they are made with recycled materials.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At grocery stores and markets, challenge your kids to find the items you need in recyclable packaging. Remind them to look for the universal recycling symbol.
