Claire helps spread the word about fighting cystic fibrosis\" width=\"150\" height=\"130\" \/> <strong>What have I been up to this summer?<\/strong><br \/>\nI\u2019ve been doing a lot this summer! We started off doing the ABC thing, so I can\u2019t give too many details, but it\u2019s for a program called, \u201cEveryday Health Heroes.\u201d Please look out for it on TV and tune in! I am still not sure who referred us, or how they heard about us, but they were interested in what we were doing. So they came to our house and filmed for three days and we did another <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/51595409@N06\/page2\/\" target=\"_blank\">flash mob<\/a> for<!--more--> them, it was an awesome experience to do again and see all the great support from our friends that came out to dance.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7618\" title=\"Claire spreading the word on Cystic Fibrosis\" src=\"https:\/\/www.northstarmoving.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/Claire-spreading-the-word-on-Cystic-Fibrosis-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>We have a lot of different projects going on with <a href=\"http:\/\/clairesplacefoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Claire\u2019s Place Foundation<\/a>; I am working on one that I am very excited about right now! It\u2019s for CF kids. It started with this exhibit that was at the Skirball called, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.1000journals.com\/index.php?view=Journals%2FExpandedDetail&amp;number=995&amp;fname=995_25.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cA room of a 1,000 journals<\/a>.\u201d Have you heard about it? It\u2019s so great. This guy, Brian Singer, sent out a bunch journals around the world and kept track of where they were going and who they were going to. Everyone wrote in a page in the journal about their lives, their wishes, their hopes, their day to day activities, and then when he got them all back he had this log of everyone\u2019s lives. It went from a Duchess, an actual Duchess from Ireland, to a homeless man in Russia. It went everywhere. It was a really big and amazing thing that inspired me. So I thought, <strong><em>how cool would it be if we did that but for children with Cystic Fibrosis<\/em>.<\/strong> It can\u2019t be actual journals because of germs but, we will do virtual journals. We are having only CF people and post transplant patients with CF write in one page for the journal. We are taking all these entries together and getting them published as a book.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How am I finding these entries you might ask?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are finding the families through Facebook, friends of friends, social workers in over 300 CF clinics that are helping us reach them. We\u2019ve already received many entries and they are so cool! The coolest part is that they already have books like this for Cancer, Diabetes, but they don\u2019t have any on CF even though it\u2019s the number one genetic disease for children and young adults. There isn\u2019t one book on it from the views of families with Cystic Fibrosis. <em><strong>We would love to invite any CF families out there to join.<\/strong><\/em> You are welcome write in and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Claires-Place-Foundation-Inc\/191032934269093\" target=\"_blank\">share your story<\/a>. We are also trying to make a connection feature on <a href=\"http:\/\/clairesplacefoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">our site<\/a> that is aimed at helping CF families connect with other CF families. So much going on! It\u2019s a constant brain storm of great projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Out of all the projects I think I\u2019ve most enjoyed\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Doing the ABC thing! It was definitely a very cool experience to see how it feels to be on the other side of the camera. Really it will make such a big impact on TV because it will air nationally. \u00a0It\u2019s a little scary but at the same time very awesome. Of course the Flash mobs were a great highlight of our summer too. Teaching people our Flash mob dance and watching the little kids that came out to dance that had better coordination that most of the adults was great.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/51595409@N06\/5632708056\/in\/photostream\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7617 aligncenter\" title=\"kids have the best moves\" src=\"https:\/\/www.northstarmoving.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/kids-have-the-best-moves.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fall is looking pretty busy too!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-7621\" title=\"getting ready for a busy summer\" src=\"https:\/\/www.northstarmoving.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/getting-ready-for-a-busy-summer-150x130.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"130\" \/>Of course we have big plans! Talk shows, radio shows, many exciting invitations. I recently went on Robert Flutie\u2019s radio show called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Keeping-it-Real-on-TanTalk-1340\/203483753036733\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cKeeping it Real\u201d on TanTalk 1340<\/a> Many people responded to it on our Facebook page, and it was awesome to hear the responses. <em><strong>I am also starting high school!!!<\/strong><\/em> It\u2019s weird, I\u2019m ready, but I thought I\u2019d feel different, but I don\u2019t feel any different. Like when you turn one year older, everyone says \u00a0you feel different. When your turn 40 everyone expects things to be different, but really it\u2019s just another day and you feel the same.
