From Ted Turner to Martin Luther King JR. to Ryan Seacrest, Atlanta has long been home to many important cultural figures.

Why do all these awesome people live in Atlanta you ask? Well… Because Atlanta is awesome! What makes Atlanta so awesome? Everything! Atlanta has great BBQ, beautiful homes, fantastic entertainment, and great outdoor activities for the whole family. Atlanta is known for having some of the most beautiful homes in the country. Often referred to as “The City in a forest,” Atlanta has the densest tree coverage of any city in the United States. Any home that you want to get moving to will be shrouded in a beautiful canopy of oak trees and will come with its own forest in the backyard.
The city is also known for its family friendly suburbs like Alpharetta, Roswell, Johns Creek, Sandy Springs, and Suwannee. The latter of which was ranked among the top 10 places to live in America by Money Magazine.

Now let’s talk about food! If you’re in the downtown area, stop by The Varsity for one of their world famous hot dogs and hamburgers. Established in 1928 the Varsity sits directly across the street from Georgia Tech and is the world largest drive in restaurant! What’ll Ya Have!? As they say.

While everyone loves the Varsity, no trip to Atlanta is complete without some real southern smoked BBQ. Stop by Fox Brothers BBQ in Decatur if you want to find out what real Southern Cuisine is all about! They’ve got the best slow cooked pulled pork and beef brisket on this side of the Mississippi!

Now for entertainment! If you’re heading downtown with the kids, get moving to the World of Coke and the Georgia Aquarium! Since Coca Cola’s headquarters are located in Atlanta, the World of Coke was built to be a monument and family attraction dedicated to all things Coca Cola. There you can learn all about the rich history of America’s favorite soft drink, as well as try other coca cola products from all around the world for free! Seriously there’s no limit, so pace yourself when guzzling!

Next take a stroll across Peach Tree Street and check out the Georgia Aquarium. The Georgia Aquarium was the largest aquarium in the world when it opened in 2005. Today the facility holds over 120,000 aquatic animals in 8.5 million gallons of water! Make sure you see the whale sanctuary which houses 11 beluga whales!!

Now how about some outdoor fun! Located approximately 15 miles north of down town, Stone Mountain is a giant quartz mazonite rock that stands over 1,800 feet tall! Surrounding the mountain is a state park with miles of hiking trails and attractions. You can spend the day hiking up the face of the mountain and getting some great cardio or just relaxing on the grass mall having a basket lunch while you admire this natural wonder. During the summer months thousands gather in front of the mountain every night for a free laser show. The show projects laser videos onto the face of the mountain, combined with great music that pays homage to the old south and Georgia culture through the decades. Plus there are fireworks at the end!!
