A Green Gift Guide to the Holidays

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Happy holidays, everyone! I’ve been procrastinating about getting gifts, but I’ve finally figured out what green gift to get for my family members.  I thought I would share my green gift ideas with you all! Here’s a list of the green gift ideas I have for my mom, dad, grandparents, brother Zippy, best friends, and my pets.

For Mom

I want to get my mom some nice jewelry, but diamonds are expensive. That’s why I love these sugar earrings! They are handmade from crystallized sugar and are even organic! (Talk about a green gift!) I know she will love this green gift for date night with Dad.

For Dad

Dad loves to cook, so this grow your own mushrooms kit is the perfect green gift for him! The soil inside is 100% recycled coffee grounds, so it’s completely sustainable. Also, if you post a picture of your growing kit on their Facebook page, you get a free replacement bag or a free donation of a kit to an elementary school classroom! A green gift that keeps on giving!

For the Grandparents

My grandparents love to entertain and have the whole family over for dinner. Grandma always has to remind people to use coasters, though! This green gift will help out: handmade coasters made from recycled keys.

For my Brother

My brother Zippy loves building things and upcycling. That’s why this make-your-own robot kit is a perfect green gift for him! This green gift lets the robot maker use anything they can find (including old cardboard moving boxes!) to build their own robot. So cool!

For My Friends

I love shopping around on Etsy, because almost everything is handmade and beautiful! The other day when I was looking for a good green gift, I found these hilarious sushi slippers! Eating sushi might not always be sustainable. Wearing this green gift is a better idea!

For the Pets

My cat loves a good nap, so this green gift is going to be her new favorite: recycled suitcase cat beds. And these look amazing, so I’m happy to put one in my room.
My dog also needs a green gift. He loves to go on long hikes with me, so this collapsible bowl made from recycled polyester is great for him!
