Today is September 23rd. According to Wikipedia, September 23 is the 266th day of the year (267th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 99 days remaining until the end of the year. It is frequently the day of the Autumnal Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, and the day of the Vernal Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere. ABC’s 1st color TV series-Jetsons premiered on this day in 1962. In 1986 Congress selected the rose as U.S. national flower. And in 1994, in a tiny office in Los Angeles, NorthStar Moving was born. We are 17 years old today. Apart from the awesome party, cake and soccer+barbecue day we had, it also got us in a reflective mode (It always seems to, just look at our 16th birthday post)

That’s a lot of lives we get to touch and get touched by. You may think that when a moving company serves that many clients all moves become just another job, but it is not so. How you see things depend on one’s point of view, and for us, moving brings a new adventure into our lives every day.
We have met countless adorable pets, hung out with Oscar winning actors on their front lawn, made the bed for a very famous rock star (yes, full packing and unpacking services can even include making your bed for you if that is your wish!), watched through the glass windows of mansions in Malibu and Pacific Palisades as Dolphins swam playfully in the ocean, had the opportunity to see the joy on the face of a client as we brought to her attention a treasure we found after taking apart her bed during her move: a lost wedding ring worth $28,000 that she lost years ago, and the list goes on and on. We have 17 years of stories. Multiply this by the number of moves we did, the clients who stayed in our storage and the amount of people involved – our clients and own team members – and you get a sea of human interaction and collective magic weaving.
