Altadena, CA is the community directly north of Pasadena, about 14 miles from downtown Los Angeles. While a small community of about 42,000, Altadena isn’t something to pass over! The Eaton Canyon Nature Center also has some great live animals and educational resources for the kids. Grab some sunscreen, and breathe in that fresh air!

The Mount Lowe Railway trail is another great Altadena hiking trail. The 10 mile trail is an old railroad bed and has interesting railroad parts to check out along the way.

Love Christmas lights? Altadena’s Christmas Tree Lane is perfect for you. Every holiday season Altadena hangs 10,000 lights on the “Mile of Christmas Trees.” As the oldest large-scale Christmas lighting spectacle in the United States, Altadena sure is home to something special.

Farnsworth Park is a great park with facilities such as a community center and an outdoor ampitheatre. Many residents of Altadena spend their time at the Annual Summer Concert Series or taking a class here to learn about everything from acting to wrestling.
