Mardi Gras is a season of fun! Or, as New Orleans calls it, carnival season! This takes place usually February through March.  Mardi Gras has been a part of New Orleans for quite some time. In fact, organizations known as Krewes put together the entire event. They dress up in costumes and recreate a specific subject. There is music, food, and tons of fun! (Not to mention beads galore.) This started in New Orleans when a member dressed up as Santa decided to throw gifts to the people. Believe it or not that’s how throwing beads were born. New Orleans knows how to have good time!
