Whether you’re considering a move or simply coming for a visit, Chicago has something to offer just about anyone who want to experience this iconic city like a local.

1.ComedySportz and Annoyance Theatre

If you’re a lover of jokes or just need a laugh, Chicago is the place to be. Some of the biggest on-screen comedians started their careers right here in the heart of America’s ‘Comedy Central’. ComedySportz and Annoyance Theatre have both proven to be two of Chicago’s best kept secrets. Have you ever imagined what it would be like to change the direction of a show as you were watching it live? Well these hidden gems offer interactive comedy, keeping their material fresh with the help of none other than the audience themselves!

2.Riverwalk

Recently opened, Chicago’s new Riverwalk offers a wide variety of entertainment. Throughout the year, venues along this 1.5 mile long strip host special events and display art exhibits. Ride your bike down this visually stunning Riverwalk and whether you’re looking for a good meal, performances from local artist or a kayak ride along the Chicago River, the Riverwalk has recreational opportunities to suit your mood!

3.Winter Garden in the Harold Washington Public Library

If there ever was a hidden gem in Chicago, the Winter Garden located on the ninth floor of the Harold Washington Public Library would be it. City life is great but every now and again, we can all use a quiet get away from all the hustle and bustle. With glass ceilings and trees and plants planted throughout the floor and along the walls, the Winter Garden provides the perfect amount of serenity along with the shot of green you need to revitalize your day!

4.Week-Long Museum Tour

Ever wanted to visit some of the top museums in Chicago for free? If you are a Chicago Public Library cardholder and also live in the city of Chicago, you can check out a ‘Kid’s Museum Passport’. 5.Chicago Cultural Center

Chicago winters can be brutal, but you can find a warm escape at the Chicago Cultural Center.  Host to hundreds of programs, the Chicago Cultural center is open year-round! The historic building, a work of art in its own right, is comprised of several halls. In each, you’ll find anything from music concerts, seminars to film screenings. Did I mention that all of these events are free?!
