Do you share a room with your sister, brother, cousin or friend? Sharing a room can be an adjustment, but it can still be tons of fun! There are many ways to share a room while still staying true to you. Here are a few ways to make your shared room perfect:

Decorating is key

Decorating any room is important. It sets the mood for everything! However, decorating a room for two can be tricky. Painting the walls a neutral color, such as grey or beige, will make it easy to decorate using accessories. The accessories, such as bedding, wall décor, and rugs are simple ways to put your own stamp on your side of the room. Sharing a room doesn’t mean getting lost in the other person’s style, it’s about finding ways to mesh the two.

Arrange separate shopping time

Going shopping alone will help you pick out the items that you really like, without feeling pressured. Picking different accessories for the room will help create your own sense of style. So, no matter what your design taste is, don’t be afraid to be you–even when you’re sharing a room.

Bunk Beds

Investing in bunk beds is a good idea when sharing a room. Bunk beds are not only functional for two people but they also take up less space in the room! You know what that means!? More room to play!! Kids especially love to play in their rooms, and bunk beds are an easy way to utilize space in the room.

Privacy

One of the most difficult things about sharing a room is lack of privacy, but don’t worry! You can purchase a specific tent called the pop-up tent to ensure privacy. This tent is perfect for talking on the phone, listening to music, reading a book, or just sleeping in peace. Plus, the best part is you can put it away when you’re not using it. Want another lack of  privacy solution? Creating a room divider is another simple yet inexpensive way to create privacy. Not only does it distinguish space between both sides of the room, but it can be stylish and functional too! It’s time to say goodbye to privacy problems!

Invest in headphones

This is imperative when sharing a room! Headphones are not only good for listening to music, but they’re also good for blocking out the noise. There may be times when you may not want to hear what your roomie is saying. Putting on headphones is a great way to get rid of the sound, and go into your happy place!

A clean room is a happy room

It is easy to make your room messy with just one person in a room, so you can only imagine how messy it could get with two people sharing a room! It is very important to keep your room clean. Having a clean room will keep both of you sane. You may be asking what if I am cleaner than my roomie? Well, if that’s the case it’s a good idea to create shared solutions, that way both of you can agree on a boundary for the room.

Lastly, keep a positive attitude! Keeping a positive attitude is great in any situation. It is a big stress reliever, and keeping positive vibes will make everyone content! Remember a clean room is a happy room!
