Coming home from the hospital after a long stay is like being a stranger in your own home. Everything around you is familiar and safe, but it doesn’t feel like home. The bed is too big, the room too quiet, the world too vast in contrast to the 10′ x 10′ room you have inhabited for the past two weeks. The warmth of the world is too hot and burns your skin.
