What to Know on Women’s Health and Fitness Day

Health is important for everybody, but, as a woman, this day is especially close to my heart. September 28th is known throughout the United States as National Women’s Health and Fitness Day. It’s a day where women are reminded about the importance of getting a checkup and other health/fitness related topics. Take charge of your life and make smart choices to make sure your body is at its best.

Hit the Gym

The gym has all type of fitness equipment to help you achieve your body goals. They have weights, StairMasters, and elliptical machines to name a few. If you’re the type of person that doesn’t like to use the machines to workout, don’t worry there’s another option that can give you similar results. Most gyms offer classes such as yoga, Zumba and kickboxing that will help you achieve your goal.

Many gyms require you to sign a contract when signing up the first time, so if you have commitment issues don’t let this stop you. You can simply start working out at your house saving you lots of money. You can do your own workouts such as Pilates straight from your home. Find a fitness video that works for you on YouTube and get moving. If you need to buy weights and some basic gym equipment, you can check out your local thrift store. Sometimes people will donate their old stuff because they’re moving or are upgrading their home gym. Regardless of the reasons, workout and feel great! It’ll lead you toward a healthy lifestyle.

Let’s get a physical checkup

Some women are afraid to go to the doctor because they’re scared of what the results could be. To prevent this, it’s important to get a yearly physical to make sure nothing wrong is going on with your body. It’s also a good time to ask your doctor any questions or concerns you might have. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, junk food might taste delicious, but it’s not exactly the best type of food we should be eating. It doesn’t have all nutrients for our body to stay strong and healthy. For some reason, fruits and vegetables have been associated with not tasting good. But let me tell you something, that’s a lie because they taste amazing! They can be eaten in lots of different ways from raw to steamed and even grilled. Regardless of how you eat them, make sure you have your daily servings of fruits and veggies. Eating the right amount can help prevent any unnecessary health issues.
