NorthStar Moving Receives Outstanding Supporter Award from Claire’s Place Foundation

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 25, 2013 — Claire’s Place Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization designed to help children and families affected by cystic fibrosis, is proud to present NorthStar Moving® Company Co-Founder Laura McHolm and her team with their Outstanding Supporter Award.

Claire’s Place Foundation was founded by Claire Wineland, now a teenager, who has been living with cystic fibrosis her entire life. “Laura is one of those people you can’t help but be inspired by,” said Claire. “Without her commitment and belief in us, we wouldn’t be where we are today. She is definitely one of my heroes and a great example to others.”

Laura and Claire first met through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. When Claire was 14, she made a heartfelt wish to Make-A-Wish of Greater LA for a newly designed mermaid-themed bedroom. Laura heard about Claire’s wish and sprung into action, providing NorthStar Moving’s services and organizing of all the pieces needed to create Claire’s room. Laura was so touched by Claire that she didn’t want the relationship to end there. Since then Laura has made Claire the face of NorthStar Moving’s blog, Moving Happiness Home, giving her a place to shine, has created multiple campaigns to support Claire and her foundation, has sponsored every fundrasier, and has been serving on their board since the foundation was founded.

“The reason we wanted to acknowledge Laura and her entire team is from the moment we met through Make-A-Wish she has been by our side personally and professionally,” said Claire’s Place Foundation President Melissa Nordquist. “She attends every single board meeting, sponsors and helps create every fundraiser, has literally handed over her marketing team to be our marketing team, and most of all she is a mentor to Claire. Thank you is not enough, they have made such a huge difference in our lives and others.”

“I am so touched by the honor, and feel so lucky and thankful to have Claire and her family in my life,” said Laura. “Claire’s positive ability to find the sunny side of life is contagious and her strength and courage are inspiring. It is my team’s favorite part of their day, to assist in spreading Claire’s message to support other families with cystic fibrosis live a fulfilling life.”
