The Top 10 Class for NAWBO’s Woman Business Owner (WBO) of the Year Award, has been announced, and we are honored and proud to have NorthStar Moving’s Director of Marketing and Co-Founder, Laura McHolm included in this prestigious group. The Woman Business Owner of the Year Award recognizes and rewards an entrepreneur who excels at strategy, operations, finances, problem solving, overcoming adversity and giving back to her community. It’s not based on business size, but rather overall business excellence.
During this year’s awards gala on October 11th at the National Women’s Business Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, this list will be narrowed down to the Top 3 and then the top winner will be announced.

The San Fernando Valley Business Journal held a virtual ceremony for their annual “Women’s Leadership Roundtable & Awards” on May 18, 2022, celebrating more than 50 women of achievement in the San Fernando Valley area. Our Director of Marketing and Co-Founder, Laura McHolm was among the finalists.
L.A. Times B2B Publishing held their first Inspirational Women: Forum and Awards in a virtual ceremony, held on October 26, 2021. NorthStar Moving’s Director of Marketing and Co-Founder, Laura McHolm, was among the nominees.
For their inaugural year, they received over 350 nominations in varying fields, from manufacturing to technology. The review and selection process considered several factors, including leadership within the nominee’s organization as well as contributions to the business world and the community at large.
Following the ceremony and forum panels, they released a publication in which they profiled all of the honorees and nominees and shared their inspirational stories, along with how they are redefining the roles that women play in their respective industries.
The Women’s Leadership Series & Awards is virtual symposiums and awards event aiming to engage, inform, educate and inspire, this year’s panelists will cover topics of ongoing importance from leading through change and mentorship to the road to entrepreneurship and navigating today’s work-life balance demands. NorthStar Moving’s of Marketing and Co-Founder Laura McHolm was a Women’s Leadership Nominee.
On September 17, 2020, the San Fernando Valley Business Journal held a virtual ceremony of their annual Women’s Council Awards, Honoring businesswomen who have made a difference throughout the San Fernando, Conejo, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valley area. Award Categories were: CEO of the Year, Executive of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Rising Star, Not-For-Profit Leader, Business Owner of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award. NorthStar Moving’s of Marketing and Co-Founder Laura McHolm was a Women’s Leadership Nominee.
More US companies than ever before have female executives at the helm. The San Fernando Valley Business Journal publishes an annual list of women-owned businesses. To qualify for the list, a business must be at least 50% women-owned. NorthStar Moving is proud to be included.
In recognition of the significant impact women business owners have made on the Los Angeles economy, Mayor Eric Garcetti and City Council declared November 19, 2019 to be Women’s Entrepreneurship Day in Los Angeles. The goal of the LA Women’s Entrepreneurship Day celebration is to inspire, empower and catalyze diverse, yet like-minded individuals, agencies and organizations, helping women-owned businesses realize their full potential in Los Angeles and throughout the world.

The Los Angeles Business Journal published their annual list of the Influential Family-Owned Businesses. NorthStar Moving is honored to have been included and profiled in this list as a Notable Family-Owned Business.
The Los Angeles Business Journal publishes an annual Women in Business list. A women owned business is defined as a business with at least 50% women ownership. NorthStar Moving, Co-Founded by Laura McHolm and Ram Katalan, was ranked #69 in 2019.
Laura McHolm, NorthStar Moving’s Co-Founder and Director of Marketing received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the Women’s Council & Awards on June 20, 2019 in Los Angeles. It was a half day event full of inspiration and education. Business women in Los Angeles shared their wisdom through a series of dynamic panels followed by a luncheon awards program honoring outstanding achievements by the top business women who make a difference throughout Los Angeles.
The Entrepreneur of the Year award is given to women who started or operate a business of their own while simultaneously impacting their community for the better. Laura McHolm was chosen as an honoree for changing the dim views consumers once held of the moving industry, while contributing time, services and financial support to charitable and social conscious organizations.
