For some reason, many of us stress when we have to start packing, or when we’re moving into a new home. Doing tasks like these shouldn’t put a lot of pressure on us. If anything, we should be in a relaxed state, that way everything turns out how we would like. When we stress, things usually don’t run smoothly, making our mind shut off. Packing and moving usually means new beginnings, so let’s start off fresh with these positive, stress-free tips.

Decide in advance what day you want to pack and set aside some hours to do this that way you don’t have to do it all at once. If you start three weeks early for at least an hour a day, you might be done by the time moving day arrives. It all really depends on how much stuff you have, how much you plan to pack and how much you decide to donate.

Sometimes we get so overwhelmed with the thought of moving and packing that our brains completely shut off. As much as we try to be productive, our mind won’t let us move forward. When we get to that point, it’s best if we take a walk to distract ourselves. Admire the beauty around your neighborhood. Allow yourself to enjoy this time before you have to go back and start packing again.

Ask a friend

Having company will make time fly faster and it won’t feel like you’re packing because you’ll have your friend to entertain you. You guys can catch up or they could even give you some handy moving tips they used last time they moved.
