NorthStar Moving partnered with Move for Hunger to ensure left over food and water at the 2019 Los Angeles Marathon was not thrown away and wasted. NorthStar Moving gathered 2,793 pounds of leftover food from the marathon and delivered it to a local food bank to help feed our hungry neighbors in the greater Los Angeles community.

Fifth Annual Food Drive Competition Provides Over 5,000 Meals for Local Hungry Children

Los Angeles, CA, July 24, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NorthStar Moving® Company, the leading eco-luxury mover in California, announced today that their fifth annual “Let’s Send Hunger Packing” summer food drive competition in partnership with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage raised 6,368 pounds of food to feed hungry children in Los Angeles and Orange County. With this year’s food drive, the total raised over five years is 32,936 pounds of food, equaling approximately 27,000 meals.

“We are very grateful to everyone who donated food to the Let’s Send Hunger Packing Food Drive,” said Second Harvest Food Bank CEO Nicole Suydam. “Their donations over the past five years have provided much-needed food for hungry children in our community.”

The food drive competition, hosted by NorthStar Moving, had Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices in LA County and Orange County compete to collect the most food donations to help feed those children in need. NorthStar Moving tallied the collected food for each office and named those that collected the most food in their county 2017 “Food Donation Heroes.”  The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices of San Marino won for Los Angeles County and Laguna Niguel won for Orange County. NorthStar Moving delivered all the food donated in LA County to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and all the food donated in Orange County to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. NorthStar Moving will honor each of the winning offices with a $1,000.00 donation.

Hunger Doesn’t Take a Vacation; NorthStar Moving’s Let’s Send Hunger Packing Food Drive Assists Hungry Children this Summer

The 2017 food drive kicked off May 22 and runs through June 16 to ensure donations are available to kids during summer vacation.

Donations will be accepted at 27 Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices. The Los Angeles County Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices’ donations will benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and the Orange County offices’ donations will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices will be competing to raise the most food donations. NorthStar Moving will honor the winning offices, one in each county, with a monetary donation to their local food bank in their name.
