I am in the process of completing a move from Los Angeles to Seattle. This is the first time that I have ever moved across state lines with more than a couple of boxes to my name, so you can imagine the astronomical levels of stress that I might experience when all of my CRAP (of which I have way too much) packed up into just over 80 boxes and crates. All of which were down a narrow, steep driveway and then up about 12 steps off of a teeny postage stamp of a front porch. 

However, NorthStar has made this process easy and as stress-free as possible. When I first contacted them, they were happy to send out an on-site estimator to have a look around. Gil typed away busily at an estimate, entering my furniture and estimating boxes, and then sat down with me to review the whole estimate. He then set about finding a move date that would save me the most money, since (apparently) there is a moving “season” and I was planning my move in the middle of it (summer, guys!). 

After the estimate and the date was set up, I received an email copy of the whole thing, and easy email contact with the company as things changed and evolved (hey, I need wardrobe boxes…hey, I sold my couch, etc.). 

The day before the Big Day, I received a phone call confirming my move, and they stepped through some details with me over the phone. 

When they got to my house, the foreman (who was AWESOME) went through all the paperwork with me, and kept me informed at every step of the process, asking questions about how to package items, etc. They were very transparent, no secrets, and no messing around. 

The three guys worked quickly, efficiently, carefully, and CHEERFULLY, and it was clear that they’ve done this before. No bitching, no throwing stuff around, just efficient beehive-like awesomeness. 

I will update this review when they unpack my stuff in Seattle, but I can’t imagine that its going to change that much. I would recommend (and already have!) these guys to anyone, especially those of us who have logistically complicated or technically impossible moves.
I recently had my second great experience with NorthStar, and now I won’t use anyone else. My movers this time (Jose Garcia, Michael James Ray, Francisco Fernandez) were fantastic. They were prompt, efficient, and incredibly careful with my  stuff.

I couldn’t ask for more, but what really got me to write this review was their amazing attitude. These three had already finished one huge move when they got to me, and they were forced to carry my belongings (including a heavy fridge) up a narrow flight of steps. I would have been cursing a blue streak in their place, but they were friendly and courteous the entire time. They went out of their way to make sure everything was in the right condition and the right place.

These guys do hard work, and they do it well. Because of them, I won’t hesitate to recommend Northstar to anyone who needs a quality mover.
Had a great team of movers by these guys (jadiel g., edwin m., michael r.) were prompt and very quick. Showed up on time and helped me to put back together furniture which was awesome. Thanks again guys, would recommend you to anyone!
Just finished my move with John and his crew.  Fast, efficient, and all my stuff went from one place to the other without any problems.  I’ve used Northstar for all of my moves and they continue to impress me and make me a happy customer.  Will contact them again in the future.  Not to mention they have great competitive rates.

Had a great experience with North Star yesterday!  Rene, Oscar, and Michael were all super nice, professional, and careful.  We hadn’t realized one of our phone lines was low and they spotted it and took extra care not to damage it with the truck, which was a huge relief!  Our yelp discount was honored without question, and the whole experience ended up way cheaper than any other time we used a moving company.  Lynn was also really nice and explained everything thoroughly on the phone. Would definitely use them again!
Jason and his crew did a fantastic job. Everything was carefully packed and meticulously moved. I could not be more satisfied with the time it took or the job the guys did.
It’s our second time moving in the city and we wanted to do it right this time. After reading some horror (moving) stories I decided to go with a company everyone else had used and liked.

They were very efficient and replied to my Angie’s List enquiry within 24 hours. They were also able to accommodate us at short notice (7 days).

I am blessed to have met Raymond and his team- Bryan and Alex. The three of them worked tirelessly packing what was left in the apartment. They were efficient from start to end, and getting the boxes up to the second floor was no laughing matter. But they did it all without any problems. And always with a smile.

If I had to engage moving services, I would definitely contact them again. And request for Raymond and his team.
