I didn’t personally use NorthStar, but my parents did on the day before Christmas Eve and they couldn’t say enough nice things about them (and this from my dad who is the pickiest and most frugal man on the planet). From my mom: I can’t recommend NorthStar enough and the three guys that came to help with the move were beyond exceptional. They were fast, efficient and courteous. They never once said “no, we can’t” or “we don’t know how to do that or won’t do that.” They figured out a way to do it….”no” wasn’t in their vocabulary. 

If you decide to go with NorthStar, the three guys that came to help were Richard Carillo, Carlos Arcos and Jovany Cuevas (please excuse any mis-spellings…I am having a hard time reading my mom’s handwriting). My parents highly recommend NorthStar (which says a lot because they are SUPER hard to please) and those three guys in particular. You won’t regret moving with NorthStar!

This moving company is fantastic.  My experience started with the inquiry process with Beatriz which then led me to book an appointment.  Beatriz was very helpful in answering all my questions and concerns and thoroughly explained the whole process for me.  My biggest concern was my 65′ tv and the fact that most of my boxes contained fragile items.  Beatriz ensured that the movers would be super careful and would take good care of my belongings.

The movers arrived (Ray, Ricardo, and Noe) and they did a fantastic job with everything.  Ray noticed that I was very nervous about the move and about my tv breaking in the process and he did a great job in calming me down and ensuring that everything would go smoothly.  Noe did a great job packing the tv. Ricardo and the whole team did a fantastic job moving all the fragile boxes down 3 flights of stairs.  The whole team was awesome and I highly recommend them.

They also finished the job in the time frame that I had predicted which was a great bonus for me.

I’ve used NorthStar twice in the last 2.5 years and will use them again. The crew (Jovani, Oscar and Jesse) came on time and were very polite and energetic. They were mindful of keeping our time within the minimum (of 3 hours) and packed and moved everything really quick – without any scratches or dents. I’ve used other moving services in the past but NorthStar is the best in my opinion at least in the Los Angeles County area.

With all the given stresses of moving, NorthStar makes your moving day as smooth as possible and I can’t recommend them highly enough.  After using them for three different moves (with three very different scenarios), I have found that time and time again their movers are professional and their customer service (with dispatch and the main office) leaves you feeling secure and informed that your move is confirmed with exactly the details you requested. 

Our most recent move (a two bedroom apt to a one bed with loft), with James, Juan, and Jovany, proved to me yet again that NorthStar delivers professionalism and movers with enough experience to deal with unexpected bumps in the road–our movers had to deal with an unfortunate mechanical issue in their truck and a broken elevator in our apartment building (we were on the 4th floor) and nonetheless kept in constant communication with us throughout, even manually carrying our heaviest items up 4 flights of stairs when that became the only possible way to move them with the elevator out of service. Every charge was carefully explained to us, and we felt fully taken care of at the end of the process. I would not look elsewhere for movers and recommend them especially for first-time California moves when you’re unsure of what you need and when experienced movers really do make all the different. 

We also highly recommend reaching out to their main reservation line (email or phone) as their customer service could not be more efficient or pleasant to deal with! Stefy and Wendy have been amazing contacts there and I will reach out to them again the next time we need moving services.

This was my second time using NorthStar because they did an excellent job moving me back from PS to SF previously. Their service was just as good this time and they even helped us assemble our bed (which was no small task).

Ana, the representative was very helpful and flexible with our scheduling changes and she made every efforts to accommodate us. We lived on the 3rd floor without an elevator but Jason and two other guys moved everything with ease.

From start to finish, it was a successful move and we will definitely use NorthStar again!

I’ve moved three times in the past year unfortunately and today’s move was great! I told Brandon and his crew that I was in a time crunch and I’ve never seen a team hustle like that and be so helpful. They did my move in 2 hours the same move that previously took more than 4 hours. This is my first review on yelp because they really deserved it!

These guys are amazing.  They were significantly cheaper than the other companies I looked at.  Before the move, there was a lot of communication about when they would show up, what things would cost, confirming the day before etc.  All 3 guys who showed up were very polite and friendly.  They worked quickly but carefully, and were nice about setting things up and arranging things at the new place, which they didn’t have to do.  Best of all though, is that they didn’t try to nickle and dime me with the final charges – actually they shaved little bit off both with the time spent and the materials used.

Best moving experience I’ve had and I wish all service companies/workers were this professional!

North Star Moving is fantastic! The guys showed up on time and worked quickly and efficiently to move my husband and me into our new home. Moving generally makes me anxious and stressed, putting my possessions into someone else’s hands, but the North Star Team was incredibly responsible and respectful. I am grateful to the North Star team for executing my move flawlessly.

I’ve had the pleasure of moving roughly ten times over the last decade, so I consider myself a bit of an expert on moving services. For background on my experience, I was moving a small one bedroom apartment’s worth of items, and it took them 6 hours total, with a stop in between to drop some items off at storage. This crew was hard-working and did a thorough job of protecting and packing all my items. (My last move, for context, damaged ALL of my furniture, and I spent 5 months trying to resolve the claim. NOT enjoyable.) They also arrived early, which was a huge help when you have an afternoon slot! Additionally, it was very affordable, and they were able to accommodate me with only a week or so notice. Overall, would really recommend them!

Jason and team were as good as it gets. They were quick, professional and highly skilled it was a life saver Worth the money, i would use these guys again in a heartbeat.
