This is the first review i’ve every written on Yelp but was called to do so because NorthStar was so great! The movers showed up early which worked out well for me but they were clear that if i wasn’t ready they would wait and start at the agree’d time no problem. They were really nice and professional and they worked very fast and super hard, were accommodating to all my various requests to do things this way or that, didn’t damage anything and on the move in put everything exactly where i wanted it, even when that meant moving a few of the larger pieces a couple times. Totally worth every dime!

I had a smallish move within San Francisco and went with NorthStar based on the Yelp reviews and their excellent Yelp deal. I couldn’t have been happier with everything. I called only a week or two before I needed to move and they had one of the days I requested. The three guys were really polite, efficient, and nice. At my new place, the guys asked where I wanted everything. At the end of the the move, they even put my bed frame together and put the mattresses on it!
I used NorthStar Moving Company in late November to move from San Francisco to Mill Valley. I have nothing but great things to say about the service and professionalism I experienced with the company. The team was punctual, courteous and professional the entire time and made sure I was completely satisfied with the handling and arrangement of my things. I HIGHLY recommend these guys and will certainly be using them again if I ever have to move.
We chose North Star based on their Yelp ratings and reviews, and we then had a great moving experience with them. Our team (Ariel, Jadiel, Isaack M, and Javier) were all professional, and we had a zero-damage move. They arrived on time, and we got the move done several hours faster than estimated, so it came in approximately $500 under the estimate. Everyone I interacted with at North Star was professional, from the original phone receptionist, to the estimator, and to the movers themselves. I’d highly recommend them for Los Angeles moves.

I decided to call NorthStar after getting a recommendation from a friend/colleague who has ONLY ever used NorthStar for his multiple moves, and who assured me these guys are the best.
Alex Ramirez arrived at my place for the estimate and was ever-so professional, efficient and assured me my furniture would arrive in Los Angeles (from San Jose) promptly and 100% in-tact, no questions asked. And, perhaps, most importantly, the estimated price was very reasonable.
Sure enough, come moving day, the crew of 4, lead by Nemer, was careful with my valuables, extremely thorough and packed and loaded quickly.
Three days later, my load arrived at my new home in Los Angeles and Joseph Vanegas and his crew of three were FABULOUS. Within 4 hours my boxes were unloaded in my 3rd floor condo and EVERYTHING was accounted for and in-tact, as promised. It’s also worth mentioning, they don’t just unload the boxes just anywhere; they’re more than happy and willing to put the furniture where it belongs and, of course, reassemble when necessary. THEY ARE A FULL-SERVICE CREW.
Throughout this entire process, my assigned project manager, Alex, checked-in regularly, making sure I was a satisfied customer. And when all was said and done, Alex called one last time to ensure my move was complete and up-to-par. I told him, like my friend who gave me the initial recommendation, I would only ever use NorthStar, moving forward.

They drove to Berkeley across the bridge at no charge! 2) Due to the high slope and the narrow road, the truck could not be parked near the new house. Oscar and his team had to carry all the boxes up the hill and up the stairs! I would never move with another company!!!

We have been very pleased with NorthStar. We have recently used them for one cross country and one local move. Both times Alex worked closely with us to understand the moves and the special needs. Tim and his crew were fast and very careful in how they handled our antique furniture and collectables for both moves. We would be happy to recommend them and would use them again if we need to move (but we hope not any time soon.)

We hired Northstar to move my elderly parents and they could not have been better! Our initial meeting for the free “not to exceed” estimate was great, and we loved knowing what our maximum cost would be. Then the day of the move, the 3 movers arrived a few minutes EARLY, they were all friendly, careful with everything, and very efficient. They actually wound up finishing way ahead of the estimated timeframe, not a thing was broken or misplaced, and all went smoothly! They really made the move simple and effortless for my parents!!
