Phenomenal service! Very professional, friendly, and quick. Our move to Colorado took only 4 days even though we had a much longer window. The crew on both ends were great- real pros and good guys. All of our stuff was well-protected. The price was less than I expected. I’m so glad we chose to go with Northstar over driving a rental truck ourselves. And Alma at their HQ was very friendly and on top of everything. I can’t recommend them enough and we will definitely contact them again the next time we move (though hopefully no time soon).

I moved a truckload of valuable and enormous wooden furniture from Santa Monica to Oakland, and these guys were fantastic! Gerardo A., Oscar I., and Gustavo R not only moved it all in without a scratch, but were all nice, friendly and polite to boot. I had some heavy boxes and chairs in the way of where the furniture was to be placed, and whoosh! They just moved it all for me and placed everything right where I wanted it to the inch. Use these guys. you’ll be glad you did!

This was the best moving experience I’ve ever had with movers, and I have moved A LOT. Factor, Will, and Chris were the three man team that conducted my local move from a one bedroom apartment to putting all my furniture in a storage unit. They showed up on time and were very pleasant and polite. Even though I paid by the hour, they were very fast and very careful (they had all furniture shrink-wrapped and loaded onto the truck in one hour). It was very evident that they were experienced. Getting my furniture into my tiny storage space was like a challenging tetris puzzle, but Will and Factor had some type of visual-spatial gift that helped them work it out. I’m not sure I could have done it without them. The appointment and office staff were very friendly and upfront with the charges so there are no surprises when you go to pay. I will definitely use NorthStar again for my next move, and I will be requesting the same awesome team: Factor, Will, and Chris.
I think if you take the Real Age test online, moving adds a year to your life. Moving is awful. “Soul sucking” might be the most apt term to describe the whole experience. But, if you have to move, NorthStar is the best option for professional movers in the Bay Area. I requested several quotes from various moving companies. North Star was the first to respond–and they offered the lowest quote. Other companies charge the same hourly rate, but tack on a hefty gas fee. NorthStar doesn’t. With the yelp deal, NorthStar comes out to be a much better deal than any other mover I saw. Their customer service was consistently extremely good. And the movers themselves are polite, professional, and efficient. These guys were awesome. Although I paid for a three man crew, they threw in a fourth mover free since he was working on a larger job later in the day. I’m also pretty sure they generously underestimated the drive and move time total (California law requires that they charge double drive time. When I learned this, I threatened yet again to move to New Hampshire. Live free or die, baby). I paid the 3 hour minimum for my move from San Mateo County to Marin County.

These guys were fast, efficient, helpful and the price was totally reasonable. The foreman Tao (sp) was wonderful…they were on time and didn’t waste any of my time….helped me put things together and were very understanding. Would absolutely use them again. Made me take notice of any damage that my furniture had already sustained so not to blame them and were very accommodating.
