I had an absolutely wonderful moving experience with NorthStar. Once they arrived, all of my furniture was loaded into the van within 45 minutes, including the dismantling of an L-shaped sofa. Once we arrived at the new apartment complex, they were aware of an even better way (back door) to get the furniture into the apartment complex because they had been there prior. I would recommend this company to anyone for a local move. I will most likely use them again when the time comes.
Seamless process! I moved just across the Bay from SF to Berkeley, and North Star made it very easy. Booking was straightforward, and they checked in to confirm the day before. 3 movers came, and were friendly and professional. Packed my room up quickly and were on their way. Unpacking was just as simple. Side note- my room in both locations was located on the 3rd floor, stairs only, but the crew was not phased, and efficiency was not compromised. Yelp deal obviously was a nice touch.
Only downside is that they gave me a 6 hour window of when they were coming (between 12-6). I was a little worried about having to wait around, but they actually arrived at 11:50am, so it wasn’t an issue.

I have now used NorthStar for two moves, and definitely recommend them. Both times, the crews showed up on time, worked efficiently, and tackled challenges with skillful, professional problem solving. The rates I received were competitive (and I appreciated the repeat customer discount!) and the movers did not add any hidden charges. NorthStar did a great job of getting everything to the new place – now it’s just on us to unpack!

From their early arrival to their afternoon departure, every procedure they made, every interaction with my wife or myself, and every item they prepared for storage and movement was done with courtesy, extreme efficiency, and tireless diligence.
The crew lead, John Henry Wilson III masterfully coordinated the sequence, insulation, and loading of our valued goods. It was obvious that both Ariel Camacho-Ramirez and Steven Anthony Cavazos respected their crew leader, in no small part because he always worked with them and worked fully as hard as they did. There was never any wasted time or movements. Their work reflects well on Northstar Moving and its managers.
I have appreciated working with you to coordinate our major move. Hopefully, this same crew will be able to complete the 2nd phase of the project. A flawless, seamless and painless move! We recently moved from Los Angeles to San Diego. We contacted NorthStar who was willing to come give us a quote. We worked with Ilan (ask for him), who helped us figure out the most cost effective move. On move day, the team arrived, as anticipated. The worked hard and efficiently, but took great care in wrapping our furniture and breakables. They had it down to a science. When they unloaded, they too, were incredible. They made sure everything was in its place before they left. Overall, an amazing experience. I would use them again.
I just used Northstar Movers again for another move. Everything went perfectly. The staff was some of the more helpful, less pushy people on the phone than the other companies I got quotes from. They called to confirm times with me a day before and even took my request for the movers to get there closer to the noon side of the afternoon time slot. I couldn’t get a morning time slot but the movers showed up around 12:30 which made me very happy since the window they give you is 12-6pm. My move for the equivalent of a 1 bedroom apartment took about 3.5 hours including some packing that I had been slacking on. The men were very helpful and took care to pack my things well but quickly. Everything made it safely with my move and I have not noticed any scratches or marks on any of my things. Again, I would highly recommend this company. Good service, courteous employees, competitive rates, and a yelp deal!
