I wish there were more stars to give NorthStar. I recently moved from Georgia to California in kinda of a hurry. I made a decision to call three moving companies before committing and I am happy to say I never made it past the second call; NorthStar was call number two and there was no need to look any further. Lynn was my representative, and she took responsibility from the first call until delivery date. Once my items were scheduled to be picked up, I also began to work with Adam who was in charge of dispatching and delivery. Adam was simply PHENOMENAL!!! Every commitment was completed, every call returned and every question answered. They really made me feel like I mattered and my move was the most important item on their list. I also commend the movers who delivered and reassembled my furniture. They too were courteous and helpful. Providing placement ideas for my items and offering to go beyond my expectations. I am so impressed! I have never had the liberty to meet Lynn or Adam, but I send them the biggest hug and thank you

3.5 years ago I moved from SF to London.  Northstar came and packed up all my stuff and put it into storage.  About 3 weeks ago I moved back from London to San Jose and I had only a short time here to get my stuff.  The team at Northstar took great care of me.  After 3.5 years they brought all my stuff none of which was damaged in anyway and set up my bedroom for me.  They arrived on time and were very quick about getting things done!  And it was cheaper than any other quotes.. the storage fees per month werent bad at all either!  
If you are moving.. and or you need storage I would highly recommend NorthStar!  Good people and good product!
These guys were great! The estimate was very fair and the completed job cost less than the estimate! They packed my kitchen (which I highly recommend) and nothing was broken or scratched. They were on time, friendly, efficient and well organized.
Wow, NorthStar is INCREDIBLE. After getting completely screwed over by another company (on the DAY of the move!!!!!) NorthStar was able to absolutely save us. They were able to accommodate us to an incredible degree and set us with movers the FOLLOWING DAY. This was amazing work! These are people who actually CARE about their customers! I would HIGHLY recommend NorthStar Moving! At the risk of sounding like a cheesy commercial, they completely SAVED me!
After receiving quotes from many movers I narrowed it down to NorthStar and I made the right choice. They were on time, professional, hard working and moved at a fast pace but still careful with all my items. From the initial estimate, logistics to delivery they were available to answer my call any time i had a question or concern. Love them!
OK – moving can be a real pain in the ass, add to that the confusion and “sales” activity of some movers and/or sticker shock for the final bill, it is no fun. NorthStar had a professional and non-fast talking on site quote drafted by Ron Cohen. It was very detailed and included a “not to exceed” price. These folks were not the least expensive, but I had a much higher level of confidence on the quote. I got a email the same day with the written quote and all the details, including the inventory and price. What they moved: 3 bdrm house and a full garage, fast and clean, no breakage, got into the new place same day under the time estimate and right under budget! IF I HAD TO DO ANY MOVING I would call these folks first and save myself some drama. cheers – cg

I had a very complicated move from a house my family has owned for 75 years. As a single mom with five kids I need things to be very organized. Ron who came out to set up the move was simply phenomenal. We had to organize different pack and move days and I had to change dates several times because of the escrow on my house and the new location and their flexibility and constant quick response eliminated all the stress. The team who did the pack and move were simply A+. The team was a pleasure to have at the house, they did a remarkable job, worked as hard as any professional team I’ve ever known. In addition they were smart, organized and respectful. After the move our final bill was a few hundred dollars more than the estimate and when I noted this to the company they immediately adjusted the bill and made a point that the quality of their work and client satisfaction is what drives their company. This is really an extremely well run business and one that was a total pleasure to work with. I actually found them after doing much research (including YELP) and am so thankful that I did.
Northstar sent a team of 3 to move our small but filled to the brim house to San Francisco.  Well, not the house, just the stuff inside.  I called 5 days before the move and there was no trouble scheduling.   They showed up on time calling before they arrived, explained the price carefully, both on the phone and in person.

The team was great, friendly, professional, and efficient.   They loaded the truck in less than 2 hours, and took the stuff up 2 flights to our new flat in less than 3.   All the time they were very friendly, even carrying my too heavy boxes up my new too narrow stairs.   

No damage to anything, everything placed where we wanted it.  Costs exactly as estimated, even a bit cheaper.  What more could I ask?
