These guys were excellent. They were very accomodating and efficient. They hustled and even saved me a little money from the estimate, as they completed the move in shorter time than anticipated. They placed everything where I wanted and always checked with me to see it was done properly.

I had a great experience with these guys. They were professional and competent from start to finish. They were immediately available to answer all questions and contact me to confirm details and my appointment. They were flexible with me as I had to reschedule a couple of times. The movers arrived 5 minutes early on the move date and were quick and careful and personable. They were extremely careful with the furniture as well as the new hardwood floors and paint. The office called to follow up the next day and make sure I had a good experience. I had read many of the review so I had expected things would go well, but the experience totally exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this company without hesitation.

My son just moved from LA to Charleston, SC and I was in charge of the moving, after contacting and getting quotes from several moving companies I was lucky to contact and contract with Jessica who was kind, informative and professional in regards to details and pricing. Four men arrived when promised were careful, hard working and considerate of all items. We required storage prior to the actual move and they responded to our request cheerfully. If you read my previous reviews, I used a moving company two years ago to move 400 miles. I did my homework and had chosen what seemed to be a reputable company. They ended up being a complete disaster, refused to make up for their poor service, and I took them to court. I was awarded a judgement and then had to send the sheriff to collect, 9 months later.
This time I was doing a local move, which is always simpler, but was concerned about making the same mistake twice. I initially chose Northstar because of their glowing reviews on Yelp. Also if you go read about them on the BBB you will see that the owner personally and professionally responds to each complaint, putting their money where their mouth is.
I called a month in advance and they sent Barak out to do an initial estimate and inspection. It was a fairly simple move but our new location had two flights of stairs which he had to add additional coverage for. He estimated a 4 man crew would take a maximum of 6 hours. I also asked to specify a certain arrival time, as we were trying to coordinate the move with parking availability and street sweeping.
The day of the move the movers showed up exactly when I asked them to and were ready to work. Augustine was the Lead and his crew was Jose, William, and Adolfo. They all began moving quickly and professionally, having our residence loaded up within 2 hours. We had run short of boxes in packing and had items in bags and various containers. They did whatever they could to pack those items as well so they were not damaged and could be moved.
At our new home they worked just as fast. We asked that they unwrap the bottoms of each piece before uncovering it so we could add floor protection for our hardwood floors. They were diligent about helping us do that, even if it slowed them down. Much to our delight they finished up within 2.5 hours, coming in 1.5 hours under our maximum estimate. They also let you pay with a credit card and don’t make you pay the surcharge (except Amex). We were thrilled!
Every person I spoke with at Northstar was professional and courteous, and wanted to make sure I received great care. It was such a delight to have such a positive experience this time around. I will gladly recommend them to anyone who needs to use a moving company in the future. Bravo!
I used NorthStar to move from one apartment to another within L.A. in 2006, and then again last week when I moved items to a storage unit while heading out of town. They are FAST, efficient and professional. And Lynn makes sure to take care of your every need. Great company. Moving is stressful but picking them again would be an easy decision.
First, I want to let you now that this review is entirely unsolicited.
Now, I need you to know that if you are in the San Fernando Valley, and are planning to move now or in the future, you must call NorthStar. I will go one step further. I dealt exclusively with Project Manager, Ilan Dahan. He was available, consistent, reliable, and the most accomodating person under any circumstances. I called Ilan with one day’s notice on not one occasion, but two. His crew arrived on time, and ready to work. And work they did! They were professional in every manner. The moves were commercial in nature, so it was important that there was as little downtime as possible. There wasn’t one minute of downtime from our old offices to the new. It was smooth, and as stress free as a move could be.
Suffice it to say that I can’t speak highly enough of Ilan, his crew, and NorthStar.
I had an absolutely great experience with the team from Northstar on my recent move from the West side. Ilan Dahan, the on site estimator, was very personable, professional and experienced, and gave me a fair quote that he even bettered by the time I booked them for the job. We had an initial mixup upon our first meeting, and he and the other staff at Northstar were so communicative about making up for it (and it was minor) that they impressed me with their customer service. I probably received three follow up phone calls regarding the matter- very good. I knew they were worth giving a try. They also had been recommended to me by a friend who had a very good experience with them.
The team that arrived, and worked hard ALL DAY, were Elisio Figeroa, Jamie Serrano, and Francisco Fernandez. These men were on time, courteous and incredibly professional in their work. And crazy strong! They spent probably double the time my other moving company spent – and my quote prior to the job was exactly what I paid when the job was completed.
I highly recommend my team from Northstar. I hope their bosses give them all a raise. They are employees worth having. Great job, guys, and thank you.
I have heard scare stories about moving companies, scammers and rip off artists…and especially with a major cross country move I was apprehensive. I got the referral for Northstar from a coworker who recently moved from Calif to Penns. and she raved over this company…
Well, having just this week completed a cross country move of my own, Northstar is truly a wonderful company. Everyone I dealt with, from the people who took my calls, to Gil who came and assessed my belongings and answered every single question of mine, to the movers themselves…everyone was delightful, patient, smart, aware and caring.
The cost was extremely reasonable and there were NO and I mean NO hidden charges. I paid exactly to the penny what I was told it would cost.
