I used NorthStar Moving to assist me move from a 1 bedroom apartment in West Los Angeles to Santa Ana. I called several places prior to NorthStar and received a great estimate from Wendy. I told Wendy that I saw their reviews on Yelp and she gave me a 5% discount in the quote. I originally scheduled the move for the 25th of August but needed to change the date to the 19th. Their office accommodated my request to modify the date without any hassles and called me 24 hours prior to the newmove date to confirm.
The arrival time window I was given was between 8 am and 10 am. The movers arrived at 9 am and took almost 3 hours to pack up furniture and some boxes……probably because I asked them to wrap the furniture extra securely since it would be sitting in storage for awhile and not unpacked right away.
The moving crew – Aldolfo F., Alejandro, and Venancio – were polite and professional. They took great care with a new plasma TV and TV console to ensure that it was packed securely.
All in all, the furniture packing up portion took longer than I expected with 3 guys, but the moving crew made good time on the horrible 405 freeway and moved everything into storage within a half hour of arrival.
I would recommend NorthStar moving and use them again for a local move.
Residential
I was looking for a company for a local move of my one bedroom apartment. Several friends had referred me to NorthStar and when I called them for an estimate, they sent out a person the next day to do an inventory and give me an estimate. They said their quote would not exceed the estimate of 7.5 hours of work. I was told the men would arrive between 8-10am AND they showed up exactly at 8am. For the next 6 hours they worked non-stop (not even taking a bathroom break) and because they finished under the 7.5 hour estimate, the final price was several hundred dollars lower. Nothing was broken or damaged even though I had a lot of glass furniture and large paintings. I would gladly use them again.
This company moved my residential location and the movers were so thorough and polite during the entire move. They arrived well before the start time, were prepared and worked efficiently together. After the move was completed, I felt so good about their service that I decided to call the office to make Ted aware how AWESOME these guys were!
I’ve used Northstar for my last two moves. Their office team is well organized and very friendly. The movers took great care of all my personal items, showed up ontime and were very easy to work with and helpful. I highly recommend Northstar Moving.
Moving is such a stressful time and for the second time in a year this was a great experience with NorthStar. Ron Cohen came ot my house and evaluated my move. He gave me a great quote and it came in very close to the estimate. I had to change my move date 5 times…and every time i asked the answer was “no problem.” On moving Day Richard H shoed up with Miguelito K and Roberto. Richard had been one of the movers on my first move and now he was the leader. Nice to see a company promotes hard work. THe move was great. They were fast and helpful and nothing we wrong all day. I will always use northstar. THank you.

I moved from one 2BR in Santa Monica to another 2BR a few blocks away. The movers showed up on time (actually 20 minutes early!) and quickly and efficiently packed up my old place and moved it to the new place, where they quickly and efficiently unpacked everything.
There was no damage to anything and the movers were all very courteous and professional.
One thing that I liked in particular was that, for a moving company, this place is very legit. They do everything with all the required forms, emails and phone calls. All of the reps are very helpful and accessible over the phone. Perhaps most importantly, they tell you about all of the charges up front, so you’re not surprised with extra fees at the end of the move.
Without question, I’d use Northstar again.

If you’re looking for the best, look no further, we found them! NorthStar Moving made our moving day so stress free and easy. We moved locally within Tarzana on July 4th, we were nervous because our date is like the busiest moving weekend of the summer. Although I am sure they were very busy that day, NorthStar made us feel like we were a priority. They were on time both at pickup and delivery. The movers worked hard the entire move, even though it was so hot! They were courteous, helpful, and very efficient. The office team that coordinated the move and called on to follow up before and after also made the entire moving process pleasant. The price is reasonable and worth it! I highly recommend them to everyone.
I can’t say enough great things about the North Star crew. We live in Costa Mesa, we have a large home, it took two trucks tomove us. Here is what they did, they did an in home estimate, made it competitive, then they delivered what they said they would, service. NorthStar packed my house in one day, moved us the second day and then came back an unpacked us. I am disabled and it was such a relief to have a crew that listened to me, took care with my belongings and wasn’t upset if I wasn’t too sure where I wanted what every time. We had a lot to move and it was confusing…they never lost patience and took the time to get it right. Nothing was broken lost or damaged.

He was the coordinator assigned to my local move, and when I said that the last time I moved it was “call my friends, rent a U-Haul, and buy pizza and beer” he answered every question plus a few I didn’t think to ask.
I can’t say enough good things about my moving team – Alex, Harry and Mario. Not only did they work their butts off, but they were unfailingly polite and professional. Boxes marked “Fragile” always were put on top of the stack, and nothing broke. Even my elderly TV was well-wrapped and cared for like it was new (probably the best handling that TV’s had in years).

My second move with NorthStar and BRAVO! Without a doubt from beginning to end, the most accommodating, friendly, professional, and easy move EVER! From the front office to the end of the move I do not have one complaint! The foreman and crew were terrific. They went over and beyond what I had asked for. My furniture was moved down two flights of stairs and up three… perfect condition. I put several items in storage with NorthStar… best price of any storage facility, my furniture and pictures were wrapped with care. I cannot say enough about this amazing company. Thanks!!!!
