Absolutely the company we will be using from now on when we move. The guys were on time, very friendly and hustled like crazy. We filled the truck to the brim and it took almost exactly the asking of time estimated.
I gave them 5 stars despite the fact that my laptop was broken. Because I packed it, their insurance didn’t cover it and if it did, it would have only paid $.60/lb so we didn’t bother filling a claim. However, the customer service agent insisted that she wanted to do something for us for the inconvenience and offered a $100 reimbursement check.
Given that we ended up paying less than $400, that kind if reimbursement is a huge gesture. I can’t imagine using another company because I know that they won’t take care of us like Northstar will.
We’ve used Northstar 3 times now for local moves and every time was so quick, easy and pleasant. Chris, Joey & CJ who helped us today were so friendly and efficient and even loved on our little pups. Thanks guys!

Absolutely amazing service. My movers were Chris, C.J., Hector B. I have never had as swift and painless a move as this. I am still reeling how quick this move went especially from LA to the Inland Empire. The total move including the drive in a little traffic was 5.5 hrs. I was initially quoted $950 for everything when a rep came to view my place in LA and with my check-in and the $50 for $125 yelp deal – it had significantly dropped my price (plus their swiftness cut the price as well). They charged me extra for the items they had shrink-wrapped and the rolls of tape they used. Overall my charge was $675. Holy crapola thats insanely cheap! Especially for their service! I have heard horror stories of movers and I was bracing myself for the bill thinking that I was quotes $950 max but there were for sure going to be other random charges that would have brought me over that estimate.
On time, courtesy calls, super quick and efficient! All my furniture is intact and they took extra care of everything. My new spot had brand new white carpets upstairs and they easily took the time to take off their shoes multiple times and were careful to not mark up the walls or carpet. I’ve never really hired movers before, but I feel that it’d be tough to find a better one than NorthStar Movers. I had intended on using them to move my things from one city to another three or so years ago, but never had the opportunity to. But now that I was moving between STATES, I felt like it was a good time as ever to call.
The friendly agent on the phone mentioned that they had to schedule an estimator to come to my place to assess how much the entire move was going to be, so we settled on a date and had them come in. The estimator was a cool guy, very patient with every question me and my girlfriend had, and gave us as much information as he can even AFTER he had left after several communications via email.
Then, the actual move came. The company asks you to have half of your estimated fee for the movers and they almost arrived earlier than I had anticipated – which was not a bad thing! At the time, I needed to begin my 15 or so hour drive to become a future Northwesterner and ensuring that all my things packed were something I was certainly going to be very important to me that day. As it turned out, the lowest estimate of 4 hours (for packing and moving my stuff out of the apartment) was super accurate and they were in and out of there by lunch time.
Now, I should add that they estimate 2 days to 2 weeks, depending on how much freight they can group together and get to the same place and, on that note, I got the full 2 weeks. They, however, contacted me 24 hours prior to their drop off (as stated plenty of times during this process by a few people) and the following day, my things arrived in good condition with nothing missing! I had read a few people’s concerns, including a colleague of mine who used them to move as well, but all my things were completely intact.
Simply put, the entire experience was really smooth and fast and I’d recommend them to anyone doing long distance moves – or even short ones, at that!

My move with NorthStar was a great move. It started with their customer service person who was very gracious and personable. She really took time to list en to all my plans and concerns and she helped me plan the move. Then my movers showed up on time, were very polite and professional, and were very fast in everything they did. I moved a few times in my life and although I never had a horrible experience, it was always unpleasant and unfriendly to deal with the moving company on every step of the way. Fred and his awesome team of movers! These guys went above and beyond to make this move a pleasurable experience!! They worked hard and stay dedicated to making sure they moved in a swift and timely manner. We’re moving again in about 11 months and we’ll be hiring this company again. Best decision ever! I was a little worried about hiring movers, but after meeting with Ivan, Rafa, and Nathan, I was extremely pleased! Not only were they on time with an appropriate estimated time of arrival, they completed my move faster than originally planned! My family had a one in a lifetime opportunity to move to California from Airzona in no less than a week and we contacted north star moving company in Airzona and we don’t regret it at all. i never had such a good experience with a moving company! my moving guys were Alex the head guy, Martin, John and i’m sorry i forgot the names of the other 2 movers. they worked really well together and were like a well oiled machine: fast and efficient. Alex was very good in communication with me all day and letting me know whats going on with his guys as well as what the next steps for the move are. they were even kind to our kids, joking around and making them feel less stressed out during the move. i was very grateful for the combination of a really professional group that was also friendly and nice to be around. it was a long day but everything made it ok and we are all happy to be in our new home! thank you north star for a job well done!

We live in a three bedroom home and since we have been living in this house for a while I wasn’t looking forward to moving day. None of us did… We all had a lot to move and the thought of having to go though the whole
process was so stressful and frightening. To top it all off, the business of finding the right mover was another thing I was not looking forward to. It was very important for me to find a great moving company that will treat our stuff with care and honor their price.
That is when NorthStar Moving came into the picture.
From my first call to the office, Lynn was very professional and knowledgeable, and she was able to answer all my questions with no hesitation while putting my mind at ease. I was sure I was in the right hands. Then Gil the estimator came and gave me a flat price for my move. The price was fair. I got one lower estimate and a couple that were more expensive but overall I decided it was important to me to move with someone I trusted, so I called and told NorthStar Moving I decided to have them be my moving company. You could tell they were happy I chose them, which made me feel even better about my decision. It was very obvious that my business was appreciated by them. When I had to call and change the date of the move at the last minute Stefy at the office helped me with it. Again, no hesitation, just top notch customer service and ‘no problem we will be happy to change the moving date for you, what day would work for you?’.
The real bonus came on the moving day. Oscar and his team were amazing! They not only was professional movers, they were also a friendly and nice group of guys that me and my family had fun with. They were unbelievably fast, nothing got broken, all the movers were strong and you could tell they had fun with their day. What a pleasure to work with a group of people that just get it: they get customer service, they get taking pride in what they do, they get that what they do effect people’s lives as moving day is so stressful so if the movers are not only good at moving but they are also just plain nice guys it makes a potentially horrible day into a nice memorable day. This was a great way to start our stay in our new home.
So I have to say: from the first phone call, to the onsite estimator that was right on the money when it came to estimating the price of my move, to the amazing movers that were dressed in uniforms, showed up in a new great looking red truck right at 8:00 AM (the arrival window was 8-10 and they showed up at 8 sharp, I couldn’t believe it: a moving company that is actually on time), I would give NorthStar Moving 10 stars if I could. Thank you NorthStar for making my moving date such a great experience, I will always use you again and refer you to all my friends!

I’ve used these guys twice now and while moving is difficult, Northstar make it easy. They work quickly and carefully.
They showed up on time with a nice sized truck and called in advance. All furniture was wrapped with reusable blankets for protection. Was on the road within an hour!
