We moved a whole three blocks and the experience couldn’t have been better!   Although our move was only three blocks, we moved from loft to loft downtown los Angeles, so the movers went from floor 13 down the elevators into the truck, then out of the truck up to the 9th floor and down the hall to our new home.  Chris M., Carlos C and Jario G. were professional and courteous even when they had to carry our couch down 13 flights!  Thanks guys.  This is the third time using Northstar since Feb 2012 and though I love their service, hope we don’t have to use them anytime soon…but I whole heartedly recommend this company for your next move!
I recently moved with NorthStar Moving and the move was really good. It was a long drive from Milpitas to San Francisco, but the movers did a a really good job. They were able to accommodate me last minute. I was satisfied with the work 🙂
Anna (or was it Alma…?) answered my call. She was very friendly and answered all my questions! She put me on hold for a few seconds when she pulled out the schedule sheets….the wait time was almost nothing! It told me that she knew what she was doing (and was good at what she does!). I just booked my move (she was very patient with my last-minute request…which I really appreciated) and ready to move!

I’ve now moved twice with this company. Both times were as flawless as you could except a stressful moving day to be. Where’s the recommend-to-everyone button?
Erik, Isael, Carlos, Rodolfo, and Ray helped us move heavy furniture up three flights of San Francisco stairs. Everything looks fantastic and they were happy to help us get everything situated before heading out. Very pleased! A few tips:

* There’s a coupon on Angie’s List to get a $100 off

* If you pay in cash, they also give a 3% discount

* If you want to bring your own packing material, make sure you ask what type of packing tape they’d prefer. We bought lots of tape beforehand but were surprised when they said that our tape wasn’t strong enough (which was probably true). If we’d known in advance, we would have bought their preferred type though.

* If you bring your own boxes, make sure they use your boxes. Even after we discussed that we had bought 20-30 boxes, they still used their boxes. It was an honest oversight and they ended up waiving the box fee but if I’d known that could be an issue, I would have watched from which pile they were picking up boxes.

* I should have brushed up on my Spanish. Knowing phrases like, “Over there please,” “upstairs,” “downstairs” would have come in handy. It wasn’t at all necessary but it would have been polite on my end.

I’ve worked with lots of services and these guys were great! Would definitely work with them again.
These guys are amazing. Quote was accurate, no nickle and diming later. Explained all the charges and were clear how I could save money…. didn’t try to oversell extra insurance. I got 2 other quotes (from 1 small and 1 large company) and these guys beat them both by $800.

The guys who picked up were on time… very professional, clean, and worked their asses off taking apart all my furniture (and we have a lot), carrying down 3 flights of stairs – fast and cheerfully.

Excellent customer service. We needed extra fast delivery…. infant was going ballistic about being in an empty new apartment. Cesar bent over backwards to beat their original est delivery date.

I called and spoke to Carrissa who was great at helping me get my move booked and explained everything to me as clearly as possible. I now have my move booked for the end of the month and it’s been quick and painless so far thanks to the top notch customer service. Will add more once the move is complete, but so far it’s been a 5-star experience.
Erick, Noe, and Carlos are a great team. They were punctual, polite and really helpful in making our move very easy.  Easy to understand all of the steps involved in the Kobe due to the transparent cost structure.
I booked a move for both myself (apartment) and for my boss (large storage vaults), with Alma and Lynn, respectively.  Both were extremely helpful, courteous, and went out of their ways to make sure that things were ready to go prior to the move dates.  

Randy and his team moved us into the new apartment, and handled everything carefully and quickly (including a piano). I would certainly recommend them to anyone I know that is moving in the future, and would use them again myself.

I love this company. I’ve used NorthStar for four prior moves and referred a bunch of friends to them too, all of who became repeat customers. Lynn has worked with me a number of times and she makes it easy to arrange everything while looking for discounts wherever she can offer them. The movers are always professional and take good care of my stuff. I don’t even think about using anyone else.

My Husband and I just moved and decided for the first time to use a moving company. The people at North Star came out to our old House and gave me a quote and answered all my questions. ( it was great ) I felt prepared for my move and a lot more relaxed about it. It took our movers half the time that our quote said it would take. I could not have been any happier with the movers and the price. Adrian, Augustine and Nae were our movers and they are very professional. They helped me with whatever we needed. Also explained all the pricing before they started moving and when they finished. He also told me about the coupon they had on yelp and told me to purchase it. I would def use them again.

We are moving (again) and have now hired North Star for the third time.  I called up and Alma was wonderful.  She was able to get me booked on the exact date that I requested and at the same great rates as before.  Using North Star again puts my mind at ease for the big move ahead.

I meant to leave a review long ago and never did. I was reminded of how wonderful this company is when I called them to have them set up our 3rd move with them. I have recommended them very highly several times to others. Our first experience with them was in 2010, then again in 2013. The first project manager/ on-site estimator was Gadi, the second time was Ilan and now this most recent time we had Gadi come back to assist us in our next moving venture.

The entire crew, from the onsite estimator to the team that packs and moves is extremely professional. They know their stuff and they get it done on time and seamlessly. The last two moves have been so easy with the help of the incredible North Star Moving Crew. And it’s worth nothing that both times the final cost of the moves ended up coming in at below the projected cost estimate. It’s a very honest company.

They listen to the client, I do have pets, so I was specific with how/what order the house had to be packed and unpacked. I leave the cats in the master bedroom with a sign, not to enter. That master bedroom is the very last room to be packed and it’s the first room to be unpacked in the new house, so I can gently transition my cats. Both times, they understood and made this possible without any difficulty.

The past two moves, we did both the pack and move.. meaning they packed up the entire house one day, and moved it all the next day. I think I packed my toothbrush and that was about it, oh and my cats 🙂 This time, I will be opting for the unpack option as well so the move/pack/upack, because I am more than confident in their abilities, and really, who wants to unpack a ton of boxes  and be left with paper wrap and boxes for weeks, not me. So I’m excited to have them do the whole bit.  

In 7 days starts our new moving venture with North Star, and of all the things to worry about in a move, I’m not worried about the actual moving of our items and everything properly and carefully being set up. They got that covered.
I used Northstar in April for a move from San Jose to Texas and was a bit worried because most of their great reviews were for local or in-California moves, and they weren’t able to send someone to my house to provide an estimate until 6 days before the move date.  But, I went with them because they gave me a great price quote, and they were fantastic!  Angelo led my move team and he was so courteous, friendly, and helpful, it was clear that keeping the customer happy was his #1 priority.  Cesar was my driver, kept me updated throughout the drive to Texas, and worked really hard as part of the smaller 2-man moving team that unpacked the truck in Texas.  I was very impressed!
