John and his team did a great job for our move from the Bay Area to Las Vegas. They were extremely thorough and careful in packing all our items in plastic wrap, blankets, and boxes. In addition, the central office and our estimator Michael were extremely responsive and flexible. Not to mention, our move came out to be extremely cheap with all the promotions NorthStar gives through its initial estimate coupon and Yelp. I can’t believe we even considered going through a self-pack company. In the end, we probably spent the same amount of money as we would have using a self-pack company but saved a lot of time and stress with having actual movers do everything for us. Thank you NorthStar for the great price and service and for taking the stress out of our move.

We just moved from San Mateo to San Jose this past Sunday. We found Northstar through Yelp, and all the reviews are spot on. This is an excellent moving company. They called back promptly when I was searching for a company and getting quotes. They were on time for the move and called the day before and the day of to confirm the time. Our crew was Adrian, Noe, Julio, and Rodolfo, and these guys were amazing. They were extremely hard working, professional, efficient, and careful with all our stuff. Since I suffered from another movers (overcharging, damage to some items, and a sort of sexual harassing attitude), I started using NorthStar recommended by my friends. They are very professional, taking items very carefully, and always complete in time and no over charge. Furthermore, during my moves, they are always cheerful, even though they are carrying heavy items. Thanks to them, my moves twice in last year was much smoother than supposed to be!
Northstar was on time, professional, and fast, but also careful with all our possessions. The entire move was so easy thanks to Diego, Vidal, Rodoful, and Ricardo. We moved from a two bedroom in San Francisco to our first home in Oakland. From beginning to end, the process took only 4 hours and our items were all in place when the team left. Found a moving company for my relocation from Los Angeles to Sacramento. Heard good things about northstar so decided to give them a try. From start to finish, everyone I interacted with was nothing short of professional. No additional charges except for a “long carry” to my apartment that was totally justified. My 2 bedroom apartment was packed carefully boxed up and shipped without any damage. I have to give a special thanks to both Zack and Michael for their awesome work. Had my stuff in storage for nearly 8 weeks. Went from LA to NY Nd everything was smooth sailing! Nothing damaged or broken. Fairly fast packing and unpacking… Couldnt really fault it and the prices were really good!

Not only was North Star Movers able to schedule our move from Walnut Creek to Oakland on Monday of the Labor Day Weekend, but the crew, headed up by John H, along with Noel and Jason G, were on time, professional, hard working, and their efficiency got the job done in less than 5 hours, which was what I had budgeted! Artem, Michael, Noe and Rodolfo did a perfect job for our move from San Jose to San Francisco. These guys took complete control of the move, packing large and extraordinarily heavy items with efficiency and steady control. Our cherished, fragile furniture was packed-in with care and survived the journey in perfect condition.
The team moved everything ahead of schedule, so we simply paid for the time spent -there were no hidden fees or surprises in the small print. A thoroughly honest approach which is very much appreciated.

The two man crew that came and unloaded our stuff into our new apartment was very helpful and reassuring. They were very nice and helpful and got everything unloaded super fast. They really are the best movers by far.

This is my second time using NorthStar: first time was SF to San Diego; this time from San Diego to LA.
The customer service for NorthStar is great! Get Stefy if you can – she coordinated both of my moves (I made sure to ask for her again), and is easy to work with and makes the process a lot less stressful.
My one complaint would be that the movers arrived at the end of the starting window and things moved slower than I expected, which resulted in us hitting some rush hour traffic on a Friday.
But besides that everything was smooth and all the silly moving policy shenanigans that my move-out building required were expertly handled by Stefy.

I have used NorthStar twice now and I have not been disappointed! They are courteous, fast, efficient and ontime! From the service rep to the gentlemen that came to move, they were very helpful, very informative and nice! The furniture were wrapped and handled with care and arrived at the desitnation without a scratch. All the paperwork was send to me via email, I reviewed it, signed and that was it. To top it off, I got a discount from yelp! I will defintiely use them again!

That’s how long it took for NorthStar’s 3 man crew to unload every damn thing I own from two moving crates, bring them up multiple flights of stairs, put them in designated areas of my apartment, assemble my bed, set up my TV, and have me sign all the appropriate paperwork.
33 MINUTES.
My whole life. Unfolding before my eyes in the same time it takes to watch an episode of The Bernie Mac show and go to the bathroom. It’s a little humbling, but a good sign considering my general hoarder tendencies.
An impressive feat it was, and it came at an even more impressive price thanks to a handy Yelp Deal they advertise where you pay $60 for $150 worth of service. Def get on that if you decide to go with NorthStar (and you should).
I was told there was a minimum amount of time that you pay for (2 hours, I think) and that 30 minutes of that time goes to account for their travel time to your place. In following those rules, I *should* have been charged more money (at least $120 more), but the super cool moving dudes didn’t see it that way (plus, I tipped them REALLY well), so they basically left it on a high note saying that the way things worked out, they should actually owe me money.
I guess not owning anything of value or quality finally came in handy since the nicest furniture I own is a cat tree followed by everything else made of particle board, which is pretty easy to move, if you’re a burly moving dude (apparently).
Setting up my move with Northstar (Lynn was my very helpful NorthStar agent) was easy peasy and I got lucky in being able to do it on less that 24-hours notice. The guys came right on time (like, they were supposed to arrive between 3:30 and 4:30 and they were there at 3:29) and were pros to every extent, including parking their MASSIVE truck on one the steepest hills I’ve ever seen. No joke, it was borderline jackknife situation.
The day after my move, Lynn from NorthStar called to make sure everything had gone well, and said my 3 moving men had asked her send some extra thanks my way for my generous tip, which was really nice to hear. I’d use NorthStar again in a heartbeat.

Moved from Santa Clara to San Mateo and theses guys were pretty good getting everything to its destination in one piece. Had the crew of Nemer, Carlos, Rick and Rodolfo. And they were very professional. I also used green boxes so it made the move very quick and easy. Definitely recommend
