I made a decision to call three moving companies before committing and I am happy to say I never made it past the second call; NorthStar was call number two and there was no need to look any further. Lynn was my representative, and she took responsibility from the first call until delivery date. Once my items were scheduled to be picked up, I also began to work with Adam who was in charge of dispatching and delivery. Adam was simply PHENOMENAL!!! Every commitment was completed, every call returned and every question answered. They really made me feel like I mattered and my move was the most important item on their list. I also commend the movers who delivered and reassembled my furniture. They too were courteous and helpful. Providing placement ideas for my items and offering to go beyond my expectations. I am so impressed!

About 3 weeks ago I moved back from London to San Jose and I had only a short time here to get my stuff. The team at Northstar took great care of me. After 3.5 years they brought all my stuff none of which was damaged in anyway and set up my bedroom for me. They arrived on time and were very quick about getting things done! And it was cheaper than any other quotes.. the storage fees per month werent bad at all either!

These guys were great! The estimate was very fair and the completed job cost less than the estimate! They packed my kitchen (which I highly recommend) and nothing was broken or scratched. They were on time, friendly, efficient and well organized.
Wow, NorthStar is INCREDIBLE. After getting completely screwed over by another company (on the DAY of the move!!!!!) NorthStar was able to absolutely save us. They were able to accommodate us to an incredible degree and set us with movers the FOLLOWING DAY. This was amazing work! These are people who actually CARE about their customers! I had a very complicated move from a house my family has owned for 75 years. As a single mom with five kids I need things to be very organized. Ron who came out to set up the move was simply phenomenal. We had to organize different pack and move days and I had to change dates several times because of the escrow on my house and the new location and their flexibility and constant quick response eliminated all the stress. The team who did the pack and move were simply A+. The team was a pleasure to have at the house, they did a remarkable job, worked as hard as any professional team I’ve ever known. In addition they were smart, organized and respectful. After the move our final bill was a few hundred dollars more than the estimate and when I noted this to the company they immediately adjusted the bill and made a point that the quality of their work and client satisfaction is what drives their company. This is really an extremely well run business and one that was a total pleasure to work with. I actually found them after doing much research (including YELP) and am so thankful that I did.

It was my first time using a moving company, but I didn’t really know what to look for. None of my friends would recommend the companies they used for their moves. I found a few local companies listed on Yelp, but after checking out the business’s website and reading the handful of mixed reviews, I wasn’t feeling confident about any of the options. There was a negative review by Paul C that caught my eye, so I sent him a note through Yelp to find out who he ended up using instead. Paul C responded with an enthusiastic recommendation for NorthStar Moving Corp. I checked them out and saw that they have an average rating of 4 1/2 stars with over 270 reviews on Yelp and an A+ rating with BBB, so NorthStar Moving Corp was looking really good.
Within 15 minutes of submitting my online request for a quote, I received a call from Diana. She was friendly and answered all my questions, and explained some additional details that this first-timer wouldn’t know to ask. A day prior to my scheduled move, I received a call confirming my appointment. On moving day, the movers arrived on time. They were friendly and careful with all my belongings as if my things were precious antiques. The guys packed up my LA apartment and got me settled in my OC home without damaging any of my belongings or have anything “gone missing”.

Northstar is SMART. They know that enthusiastic word-of-mouth will get them more business than a Yellow Pages ad, and so their business model is based on making their customers happy. They invest in it. Moving is a leap of faith and can be quite emotional – you’re entrusting your entire estate into someone else’s hands, as well as making a big change in your life. Do yourself a favor and do it with these guys. For a competitive price, I received premium service. From Wendy who worked with me to get the ball rolling. To Ilan, who personally came out and gave me an estimate that he guaranteed wouldn’t be more than what the contract said. To Juan Carlos, Jaime Pevromo, Miguel Garcia, and Rafael who packed and on-loaded our stupidly-heavy furniture – sometimes on their BACKS – with the strength of Norse gods and the easy, sweet attitudes of relaxed surfers: they treated everything as though it was their grandmother’s and did a more thorough job of packing and protecting than I would have done myself. Our off-loading crew, Jesus, Juan Carlos, Giovani, Ramir, and Matt had the additional burden of trying to find parking for a 22-foot truck in downtown San Francisco (I’m too embarrassed to admit to how long it took them – it’s my fault), but they handled everything with great style and grace. Even the dispatchers on the phone – such as Cesar – were exceptional – they speeded up my delivery date – just to help me get into my job faster.
Honestly, if every company acted like they really cared about what customers would say about them – they would act more like Northstar. I can’t say enough nice things about these guys. Responsible, professional, competitive, and customer-focused. You won’t be disappointed if you go with them.

I had an uneventful/successful move. Gadi came to do a walk through and give me an estimate a few days before. Ezekial and 3 of his guys showed up on time on my move date, wrapped up my kitchen and furniture and got me settled in my new apartment in ~5 hours. No damage to any of my furniture. I also have a lot of antiques and art which all arrived in perfect condition. Total came to about half of the estimate (I had a lot of boxes from my prior move).
I highly recommend Northstar. It wasn’t cheap, but the peace of mind was worth it.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a moving company to come and not only do the move but fully pack it up too. We started by only looking on the Better Business Bureau for places with high ratings and contacted about a dozen. From that dozen about 6 made appointments with me to come out and give an in person estimate. We weren’t interested in coming up with a guess over the phone, we wanted it locked in as much as possible so there’d be as few surprises as possible.
I can tell you that after a week of thorough research we confidently went with Northstar as our top choice, and to this day we’re happy with our choice.
It started with Ron Cohen coming to the house for the estimate. I was honest and told him that we were comparing places and were looking to save money but wanted somewhere good. I knew from reviews to expect this to be one of the more pricey options but a good one. What I was very happy with was that Ron was very straight forward with me, he cut out as much of the extra cost as possible and was willing to come up with a flat rate so there’d be no question as to the final price, and best of all it was actually right in the middle of some of the other estimates, not even close to the highest price.
We liked Ron and his professionalism (and the reputation of the company) so much that we happily went with them over a few cheaper options which simply weren’t quite as good.
Ron kept every promise, the guys came over bright and early (and ontime) and although we’re still not fully UNPACKED I can tell you that so far nothing more than a solitary light bulb was broken, and they were very professional with the move. It took a while and at the end of the day the flat rate was completely honored and we’re very happy with the experience!

For starters, they arrived on time. They were quick, efficient, courteous and professional throughout the entire move. They padded the more delicate furniture pieces and handled all items carefully. Not a single piece of furniture was broken. Because of them my move was stress-free and quick! I highly recommend them.
NorthStar is the best, and I highly recommend them. Ron Cohen came to my house and gave a professional estimate, coordinated everything, and was constantly available for any questions. Found these guys on Yelp after reading so many great reviews.. (just like everyone else!) and they did a fantastic job for me.. Professional all the way, showed up when they said they were going to show up, and worked as quickly as possible. I packed up everything sans the kitchen (glasses, etc) and again they did a solid job with that as well, not a single breakage. If you got a little $$, don’t beg you’re friends to help you move.. Save yourself some stress and grovelling and get pros to do it proper, these guys did good by me, reccomended!

The thought of moving was incredibly stressful – have never used a moving company before..juut knew that I didn’t have the time or energy to do another move on my own! I considered a couple of companies and got a few estimates. I can say without a doubt, that my experience was beyond wonderful.

I needed to move from a Brentwood apartment (Barrington Plaza) to a Pacific Palisades house. I am a very busy individual, and needed the moving company to take care of packing and uppacking as well.
Northstar service was as good as it gets. For serservation, I called and I told them the apartment size, and they told me that I needed a 3 men crew and 1 truck at the rate of $115.00 per hour. The packing material would be extra unles I supplied them. I had them do it as the prices were reasonable. On the move day, the movers arrived 30 minutes earlier than originally planned and asked if I want them to start earlier, or to wait to start on the hour. Of course, I asked them to start right away. They started packing at 9:30am and by 1:00pm everything was in their truck! I was working on my laptop the whole time! After lunch, we got to Pacific Palisades at 2pm. They started unpacking, and only asked me where everything should go to. By 4:30pm, everything was unpacked and placed in appropriate places (even the frames!).
All the staff were super professional and worked very hard and efficiently. Nothing was damaged during the move.
This was the most pleasant move that one could ask for!

This is the 2nd time my husband and I have used NorthStar moving, and if we move again, it won’t be the last. After getting estimates from 3 moving companies, NorthStar moving’s prices were not only competitive, but they offered 30 days free storage if we needed it (the other moving companies charged for storage). Our most recent move was from the Los Angeles area to the Bay Area. Ron Cohen managed our move and we couldn’t be happier. He was very professional, flexible, and followed up with us all along the way to ensure our moving needs were taken care of. The movers themselves were on-time, professional, and best of all, they wrapped and transported all of our household items so well that nothing was damaged!
After all of our items were unpacked, we had a sea of empty boxes laying around. I called to request NorthStar pick them up and they came the same day I called and hauled them all away. Impressive!

We just used them to move from West Los Angeles to Sacramento, and they did a great job. I was shocked that nothing was broken or damaged. The movers were quick, nice, and professional, and the cost ended up being less than the estimated cost from Ron.
Our cross-country move was somewhat complicated–we had to change dates at the last minute, access to the apartment was difficult on the pickup and delivery ends, and it was excessively hot and humid on both ends–and NorthStar and its affiliates were flexible and professional the whole time. Everything arrived with minimal damage, the movers themselves were polite and efficient, we witnessed some epic maneuvering of very large trucks in very tight places. Given the complexity of the job, the cost was very reasonable, and the company stuck to the quote that we were given up front.
