I wanted to both commend and recommend NorthStar Moving Co for the outstanding job they did with my move on Mar 5th, 2011. I have made several residence moves in the past, not always with good results but Northstar exceeded my expectation. The positive experience started with the return call from their account rep, Kat, who was very professional and asked all the right questions. The quoted price was very fair and, as it turned out, an incredible deal. The moving team was very professional and focused on making sure that my possessions and property were well protected. They even had to carry furniture and appliances up a double flight of stairs and never hit the walls or banisters. Even when they finished, there was no damage at all. I would highly recommend them for any move contemplated and will use them again in the future.

in a word AWESOME. Gil prepared our “not to exceed” estimate and was freindly and very knowledgable. Truck and Richard H’s 4 man crew showed up on time and started immediately. They are a practiced and motivated team. They were careful with everything and did an amazing job packing the truck. Unloading went quickly and they placed items in our new home without asking. Move time went a little over ( we moved 65 miles ) and the “not to exceed” estimate was the cost we paid. Great moving team, great experience, great price. This is a satisfied customer who will definately use them for our next move. Thank you for an amazing relocation to our new home. Definately recommend this company and team.

super fast, hard-working, careful with our stuff and great communications with me while moving our household goods from 2 storage units over to our new house 8 miles away. had absolutely no glitches while moving everything. they had good mo-jo between one another, as they helped each other as needed…guys didn’t need to wait for the team leader to instruct them on what to do in various situations. worked 8 /12 hours to move our 4-bed, 2600 sq ft house full of stuff. price was extremely reasonable and included a truck and miles. supervisors speak great English and communicated well with the other men on the job. unbelievably careful with our higher valued items (paintings, furniture, antiques). i would highly recommend these guys to absolutely anyone.

I can’t say enough good things about NorthStar. They were so professional, both over the phone and in person…the 3 guys (yes, THREE guys, at the same price most companies quoted me for two) that showed up to move our stuff were super friendly, punctual, and efficient. They finished the move in record time, and the final charges were less than half of what we (over)paid the last time we relocated – AND we had much less crap that time around!!! Definitely recommend – great company.

I made a move from Los Angeles to Iowa about one month ago for a new job. My friends gave me multiple options- drive a U-Haul, ship my stuff via USPS, or hire movers. Having carried boxes and furniture up and down multiple flights of stairs in a recent move, I clearly remembered the body aches and pains I suffered in the days that followed. I decided that I was going to hire a moving company this time!! Since I had never hired a moving company, I had no clue where to start. I looked at many of the available companies and most of the quotes were similar. I went with NorthStar for the following reasons: they had good ratings and reviews and their representative, Kat, called me fairly quickly after my online quote inquiry. The communication with Kat was clear. I specified that I would like my belongings to be delivered during a certain time period and although she could not guarantee a delivery date, she said the driver would try his best to get my stuff to Iowa when I requested. I was in contact with dispatch and the driver of my belongings a few days before the delivery, 24 hours before delivery and also the morning of the delivery. My driver was excellent and moved ALL of my belongings up 4 flights of stairs by himself, and on the exact weekend that I had requested even though the weather was cold and snowy. All of my belongings were present and in the same condition as when I had last seen them. My bed had been wrapped well by the movers so that it would survive the trek. My driver set up my bed for me as well as the frame. Price was very reasonable and I was able to use my credit card for the transaction. I will definitely use NorthStar for any future moves.

I’m very pleased and satisfied with North Star Moving. We got a Not-To-Exceed estimate, and rather than going cheap/lazy, the 4 guys that they sent, went right to work, and worked well. We bought a few boxes, but they ended up giving them to us for free, and they also brought extra blankets, and a wardrobe. All in all, the actual price after the move came to be $200 less than the not-to-exceed price. Not bad…

This was far and away the best move I’ve ever had. I’ve moved a lot over the last few years, and NorthStar exceeded all of my expectations. The movers arrived promptly, worked quickly, and were helpful and pleasant. It wasn’t the easiest move either, as I moved into an apartment with a narrow staircase so much of my furniture had to be hauled over the patio deck and through the sliding glass door. All of my furniture was handled with care and they did not nick one single thing. I was completely moved into my new place within three hours. I couldn’t have asked for a better moving experience and will recommend them highly.

We were so impressed with this moving company! Being new to LA with every aspect of the city so foreign to us, it is hard to know who to trust. Luckily our daughter who lives in LA had used North Star to move both her business and homes. She gave them the highest recommendation, so we knew we would be in good hands and we were. They are prompt, right on time. They are amazingly fast and courteous. They are very helpful finishing all the things you think you’ve completed and realize you missed some items. They are very patient, as I’m sure they are used to dealing with a lot of the same issues all of the time. We have no complaints, only praise. They are very professional in the office as well. The contact person we dealt with was Kat Alexander and she kept us up to date from start to finish. She emailed us detailed costs, lists of things we needed to do to be sure we were ready, and reminders of the upcoming date. Her follow through was amazing. I would recommend this company to anyone, especially to newcomers to the area who can rest assured they are in very good hands. Honest, hardworking company that does what they say they will do. Very reasonably priced and responsible about calling prior to arriving. I appreciated knowing exactly what I was paying for and when I needed to plan to be home. A good man by the name of Gadi helped me with a condo move that i had to do. The move went by flawlessly and i couldn’t have asked for better service. The movers were also so nice and good natured. They helped me disassemble and move my bed out. As well as wrapped everything in plastic wrap to keep everything safe.

I’ve used Northstar morning many times over the last few years (for local and long-distance moves) and with each move they’ve over delivered and been a joy to work with, from start to finish. I’ve also had the opportunity to refer them to countless of my real estate clients. Each time, the clients have thanked me for the referral and told me Northstar made a usually difficult task so much easier and more enjoyable. I have moved with Gadi Avziger from Northstar 4 times in the past 7 years! Seriously, my husband’s work makes us move a lot, and these guys have made it easier and easier with every move. Service is incredible, they are so careful with our expensive furnishings, and they stick to the estimate. The teams (one day before to wrap stuff, and take furniture apart, the next day to actually move) were professional, clean and polite. Nic frequently oversees the actual move, and we love him as well. Professional, courteous, and no surprises. they work with us to make sure all costs are fair and we understand where they are coming from…would not use any other company, nor work with anyone aside from Gadi!

495 Productions has been using North Star for years. We shoot several productions a year and they are the only moving company we trust. They are always very professional, super speedy and provide great rates. They’ve always kept our productions on schedule and under budget. Gadi and crew are always amazing! They take special care of all our pieces. The wrapping and packaging of our things is always impeccable. Everything arrives unbroken and in mint condition. Moving for any reason, personal or business, is stressful and knowing Gadi and his crew are taking care of everything from packing, to safely transporting and moving items into the new location, is a great relief. We love North Star so much that several of our employees have used them for their own personal moves. We consider them family! We can’t recommend any better. North Star is the best in town!

Great service. Loved that they send a person out to you for the Pre move estimate. Very helpful to get some early questions answered and the estimate was spot on.

Just completed a Sunday move with NorthStar Moving. Ron Cohen accommodated me with a Sunday move because rain was forecast for Saturday and it did rain hard. The move was flawless and the job was completed within the estimated price by Ron. The moving crew worked tirelessly until the job was completed with only one short break. They also helped me with a drop off along the route at my daughter’s place. I could not ask for more.

This is the only moving company that sent a human being out to do an estimate — Ron Cohen was extremely professional and helpful. The four men who came to pack and move did an incredible job, treating each piece of furniture carefully. I’ve never seen such excellent packing. The follow up was timely–everything arrived well (it was a cross country move from Long Beach to Orlando). And even though they couldn’t guarantee the delivery exactly — everything arrived one week after pickup. We choose this company because of the yelp reviews and wanted to add another commendation to help others make their selection.

Wendy in customer service gets a 5 star for going above and beyond to make my move a positive experience. She is a definite asset to the company. The workers were extremely hard working & nothing was broken.

I can tell you that I could not be happier that I was with Carlos Perez and his guys. They were capable, efficient and all had nice attitudes. Carlos was particulary skilled when it came time to break down furniture and put it back together again, remove and replace door handles and a door — he was amazingly quick and skilled. Everything got to my place without a scratch and without damage to the walls and molding of either place. The whole move went quicker than I expected too.

I just used Northstar for my move from LA to San Francisco. I HATE moving, but Northstar made it as easy as possible. Ron did an in home estimate and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Both the LA and San Francisco moving crews were great! I have heavy, bulky furniture and I never heard any complaints. They packed carefully and efficiently. They even gave me the option to choose between two delivery dates, depending upon what was more convenient for me. I will definitely use Northstar for any future moves!
