I received a quote from Ron Cohen a few weeks ago moving from LA to Houston. To be honest, the quote was more than I could afford and I decided to get a UHAUL and move myself. When I got to my apt in LA I looked around and thought, ‘I must be crazy’, so I emailed Ron and asked if he could send 4 guys and at least help me load my truck. I would drive it myself. He fit in my budget and THANK GOD! The guys were amazing! They were non-stop, worked so hard, were so professional and packed my truck perfectly. We didn’t think everything would fit at first, and lo and behold there was EXTRA room! The mover said it’s like playing a game of TETRIS 🙂 The thing that impressed me most was even after having to move HEAVY things down 5 flights of stairs (YES, my elevator was broken), the guys had a smile on their faces the entire time. I was totally impressed and grateful for the guys, their attitude and their professional moving. I had some very expensive items and I chose to spend the money to protect them and have them moved correctly – and I’m so glad I did.

Northstar was amazing. Not only were they reasonably priced and treat you like royalty, but they do an incredible job and are extremely careful and professional. Make sure to ask for Ilan – he’ll make sure you’re treated right. It was my second time moving with them, and I won’t use another company.
Gadi Avigzer and his team are absolutely terrific. Their attention to detail and the care with which they move you is really something. They move your stuff as if it were there own. We will use them again and it’s no surprise that they have a number of references and repeat customers. They are not the least expensive, but they are the best. Save yourself the headaches of the bargain guys. I couldn’t believe how helpful and considerate they were, even to some elderly relatives and to the kids. Gadi and his team are honest and are incredibly hard workers. We are recommending them to everyone. We found them on Yelp and now we’re converts raving about them on Yelp as well.

If I was to ever write a documentary on good customer service, North Star would be a case study. Professional and friendly at every link in the chain (which is rare even for good companies). Their rep Ted was attentive. Their estimator Ron C. was thoroughly detail oriented and patient enough to walk me through everything he was putting into his estimate and why.
Last, but not least, Richard H. and his crew were the best of the best. Punctual, efficient, polite, friendly, and careful with our valuable items, they were pretty much everything you want out of a moving crew and then some. They showed up right on time and were ready to get working the minute they stepped through the door. I couldn’t even believe how fast things were disappearing from my box filled living room.
Now before this, when Ron gave me his estimate, I almost choked on my drink. But I’m the type to pay for quality, so I beefed up my budget and readied myself for the pain. However, the best surprise was at the end when it came in under time and under budget.

P.S. – There’s a few other areas of modern commerce that could use your golden touch. I’d gladly take my car to a North Star Auto Repair. Food for thought 😉
Everything from my first call to the last box moved went smoother than expected. NorthStar – from Jon to Ilan and especially to Richard and his crew – is super customer service oriented. Calls were readily returned (if in the rare instance that I had to leave a message), appointments were easily made and convenient around my schedule, and each step along the way NorthStar actually made moving a pleasant experience.
Richard and his crew showed up 15 minutes early, letting me know they were ready when we were. Each box and piece of furniture were carefully attended to, as if each were the team’s own personal property. They were quick, worked hard each minute of the day, and never tired of my requests to move one box to another room or help perfectly center something along the wall.
Friends recommended NorthStar, and am I sure glad they did. I highly recommend NorthStar as well.
This company is as good as it gets. Efficient, professional and curteous. Ron came out to answer questions and give us an estimate. We came in $300+ BELOW! Anytime I had a question, Ron responded with lightning speed. The movers were fast and courteous. Not one item went missing or broken and not one scratch on our nice wood furniture! I know who I’m using next time we move… Book ’em!
There guys were great! I moved from L.A. to Ct. when the weather could not have been worse but Ron Cohen in L.A. was an excellent representative who was always there to help and answer questions. The driver Jean Charles Sala was superb and loaded my things expertly and drove cross country through many blizzards and delivered everything in tip top shape. He was amazing and the crews on both coasts were terrific as well. If you’re looking for a great moving company with profressional and honest people at a great price then North Star is for you.
NorthStar THANK YOU!!! I am 8 months pregnant and we moved last weekend, this is something I was really dreading but it proved to be a seamless and stress free experience. I posted an inquiry on their website and within a few hours someone contacted me. Barak Cohen came over within a day to give us an on site estimate, He was extremely professional and easy to deal with. I got another quote from another moving company however the initial service and estimate I received from Barak made the decision to go with Northstar extremely easy. On the day of the move the movers were prompt and they began packing everything for us, quickly and carefully. They sent 4 people which was great for a 2 bedroom apartment. My husband and I just relaxed and watched. They bought all our things over and began unpacking and placing everything where it belonged even our clothes were hung in the closet (they hung our clothes in special wardrobe boxes so they didn’t crease at all). Jaime, Erick, Alejandro and David you were AMAZING and made it such an easy day for us. We appreciate your hard work and professionalism. I would definitely use Northstar again!!
Northstar is a 5 STAR moving company!!!. I used them several times in the past for different clients (Office moves) and was very pleased with their performance. Gadi has proved to me again and again that I can trust him completely to get the job done. Gadi is a hard working individual, very detailed and super involved in everything related to the move. He will hold your hand through the process to ensure smooth experience. He showed up onsite the day of the move and made sure everything was handled properly and that my clients were happy.
From my first phone call with Ted – to meeting Gadi and then the fabulous crew of Oscar and the guys – it was the easiest move I’ve ever done! It is a real pleasure to work with professionals and they were fairly priced.

NorthStar Is an excellent moving company. The best I have ever encountered in all my 26 years living in California. I have used NorthStar three times and each time they have provided me with excellent service. Ron Cohen the estimator has hit my budget and target hours right on the nose. The moving staff is excellent in the manner that they wrap your furniture with such care better than when it came from the manufacturer. The movers are on time, they move rapidly and adhere strictly the the NorthStar standard of care. I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know that needs this service they are EXCELLENT!!!

My move was on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011. A steady rain was falling. The two guys and the truck arrived right on time, immediately assessed the move and got to work. They had a great attitude. They worked together perfectly and were friendly and professional. I absolutely give them 5 stars, “as good as it gets.” They took excellent care of my furniture and were happy to put things where I wanted them. They cleaned up after themselves and completed the move in a timely manner. I hope I don’t have to move again anytime soon, but I would definitely call Northstar if/when I do have to move again.

We had a perfect experience with NorthStar Movers. They managed to fill two trucks completely and empty them in one day. The movers were always pleasant and helpful, even at the end of the day. What we did not have packed, they packed and loaded quickly onto the truck.

I was the Sales Manager and a Developer Sales and Marketing Consultant for the new high-rise condominium buildings in Marina del Rey all three consisted of 812 total units. I needed to have an experienced Moving Company that would ensure the safe movement of furnishings to and from the buildings especially with many of the properties fetching over $1M in sale value and possessing homeowners with big demands. In addition, the Home Owner’s Associations have demanding requirements for time of operation and use of the elevators in addition to strict insurance requirements. Northstar Moving, from day one over 10 years ago, stood out among all the other movers as Number 1! Their reputation was so great that when they finished the 3rd and last building, the developer insisted on having Northstar Movers as the Preferred Movers for the Developer was under a great deal of scrutiny and had a very demanding schedule for moving owners of almost 100 units into the building in just over a couple months….they needed an efficient and thorough company that also consistently moved homeowners safely and with almost zero flaws….Northstar answered their demands with flying colors! I will always recommend Northstar with an Exceptional rating.

I recently moved with NorthStar Moving Corp and had an excellent experience. Most aspects where I had struggled with previous movers were such a breeze with Northstar…I didn’t know this was possible. Right from scheduling to initial estimation visit, Ron Cohen was a pleasure to work with, very honest and up front. When our closing date was delayed at the lenders’ end, Ron even helped reschedule the moving date to a couple days later at our desired times at no extra charge!
The moving crew, headed by Nick, arrived right on time and ready to move. We had chosen a ‘full service’ move which included both packing and moving…the crew was extremely adept at packing items quickly and appropriately. The icing on the cake was that the crew finished much earlier than the initial estimates…and at a cost of $100 below the initial cost estimate!! Unheard of…
In retrospect, though, if I have to point out any minor improvement areas (yes, they were great, but can be better!), one, they can arrive with better and sufficient boxes (they almost ran out at the end and had to adjust) and two, may be take a couple extra seconds to label boxes better so unpacking is easier. Overall though, I would definitely use NorthStar again for my moving needs in the future…good job!
moving should always be as easy as this. our move date moved more times than i can remember, and ron cohen was as cheerful and accommodating as the time he gave us our original estimate. and btw – they guys did such a quick job on moving day, that the actual cost came in about 35% LESS than the estimate. these guys are honest, work hard, and were a pleasure to deal with. thank you northstar!
I have used Northstar Moving Corp many times to move my business and my home. We even used Northstar to move my mother-in-law, who was very concerned about her “stuff!” Needless to say her belongings were moved without the slightest scratch.
I am consistently impressed with the “over-the-top” excellent service that I have always received by the office staff and the guys that actually do the moving. They always seem to treat me as if I were their most important customer, and they handle my stuff as if it were their own. In particular, Gadi. I have always said that I wish Gadi ran other companies because I would continue to be a devoted customer no matter what business venture he took on.
It is very refreshing in this day and age to see a company that is so excellent at what they do, and so concerned and committed to needs of their customers. I highly recommend Northstar for any moving needs.
I used NorthStar moving last month for a very rushed, stressful move. A huge wave of stress was released after I consulted with Ron Cohen. The movers were efficient, accommodating, and pleasant. The “cannot exceed” price was fair, and the final cost was far less than expected.
This is my third move in Los Angeles (well fourth if you count the one I did for a friend). I used different movers every time. After this experience I’ll never look for other movers again. NorthStar is the way to go! Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed!
Love these movers. We called with very little notice. Barak came out in very short order, made an estimate, and scheduled the move. He was terrific.
NorthStar packed us one day and moved us the next. We had a guy named Jesus as our lead guy on the job, and he couldn’t have been nicer or more professional. Everything was done to the highest standards – wrapped with care and moved/lifted with respect for both the contents and our house (no scratches on the walls, etc.).

We recently used NorthStar movers for a local move. I was absolutely thrilled with this company from beginning to end. Before we booked them, Ilan Dahan came to the house I was moving from to provide an estimate. With a local move, not many companies send a representative to give in-home estimates so off the bat, I was impressed that they did this. He went over the entire estimate point by point, thereby eliminating any worry about the “fine print”. He also guaranteed that the actual cost would not exceed the estimate, which was great considering this is where other movers tend to screw you over.
The day of the move I was blown away by the crew of workmen. They arrived at 8:00 on the dot (window was between 8:00 and 9:00) and they got right to work. I was so impressed by their speed and efficiency. Though they worked fast, they still handled all of my furniture with care.
Not one item was broken or damaged in the move. They re-assembled my son’s crib and bedroom furniture and any other items that had been disassembled at the house we moved from.
From beginning to end I was 100% satisfied with Northstar and with Ilan. I would highly recommend them to anyone and I will use them again for any future move.
