Just completed our local move San Francisco to San Francisco and it was all that we read about and more.  Beginning with the amazing Beatrice Gomez and her professionalism, patience with our questions, and always returning our calls.  Our move was not as easy as we had anticipated and yet Miguel and his crew made it as smooth as possible taking the tiny shared elevator, navigating parking, and always listening to any concerns in stride.  We will use them in the future and recommend them highly.  Billing was carefully explained, very fair and reasonable and with nothing unanticipated–remarkable company (and woman owned–why are we not surprised 🙂

Scheduling was easy; everyone I spoke to before the move was friendly and responsive. On move day the crew called me with their estimated arrival time and were prompt. They worked efficiently loading and unloading. No damage to anything. The whole process was really easy and stress-free.

We recently used Northstar for a relocation from Long Beach to Temecula. We opted for the white glove service and have nothing but good things to say! We had a very complicated move, going to 3 (!) destinations, our house was a complete disaster and only halfway packed on moving day, everyone was panicking, the forces of chaos were abound, and it was POURING RAIN the entire time… but the crew patiently listened to what we needed, arranged all of their gear and work area, then jumped to work.

We had to sort all of the items by destination, and the crew got it 100% correct, so when we got to each place, the unload was super fast, and we didn’t have to re-organize anything! I’d find it hard to believe that any other team of movers could do the job faster than they did. The 3 person crew was in perpetual motion, working as a team to simultaneously (un)pack/wrap and lift as necessary, which saved a lot of time compared to having 2 people. Because our last destination, a storage place, closed early that day, we were on a tight schedule, and they got us all the way through, with time to spare. I felt the hourly rate was fair, it included all the fees, and the material costs were reasonable.

Valery was very helpful setting it all up, she was responsive and made sure we had the right information and timing. She even took the time to follow up and repeat all the details for me the day before the move, just in case I had questions or any issues, which I really appreciated.

I have moved twice with NorthStar Movers: once from LA to Irvine and once within Irvine.  I was super happy that we used NorthStar in both cases.  The movers were efficient, careful and polite.  Nothing got damaged during either move, and moving day was stress free.  Ron Cohen was our estimator for the moves, and he gave us good advice about where we could sensibly save money in preparing for moving day and what things were best left to the movers.  After our first move with NorthStar, I was pleasantly surprised by the final bill as we had gotten estimates from other companies that were significantly higher.

This moving company was very communicative, professional, and timely! We had to move in the rain from a suburb to a downtown and it went smoothly and they even helped me reassemble my bed frames. They didn’t seem to cut any corners and took great care of my belongings. The move took about 7 hours for a 2 bedroom apartment. Albert, Santos, and José R were really nice guys too! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Jose and his crew were really great. We chose the packing and moving service for our move from SF to Oakland. It was a little on the pricey side, but I felt that all of my belongings were safe and the packing and moving went by very quickly. I’ve definitely had bad experiences with moving companies in the past, so I was happy to see the professionalism of everyone involved. Randy helped me get started initially and Jose and his crew took it from there!

We have moved twice in the last year and used a different highly rated moving company the previous time. Our experience with NorthStar was vastly superior. The movers were quick and professional and the price was much better. We’re very happy we went with NorthStar this time.

She was then very responsive to a number of questions I emailed her about regarding the move details. The great experience continued today during the actual move with Isael, Carlos, Cristobal, Eclalio and Gustabo. Isael and his team were punctual, worked quickly but thoughtfully and were great about communicating with us regarding what stays, what goes and where things should go in the new house. North Star movers provided efficient, organized, and great service. The team was very prompt and they were very good at what they do. Upon arrival they did a quick walk through and within 15 minutes started the job. No time was wasted and they made sure to communicate any issues or problems. The loading and unloading went very smoothly. They took very good care of our personalized items. The best part was knowing we had a great team working with us that day. They were all great guys and enjoyed what they do. I would highly recommend them in any type of move big or small.

Especially Sanjeev Dhewant (Sam) who was the first contact for Northstar did a great job. He was very responsive and friendly. This is the second time that we worked with these guys in the last 5 years.

This is the second time I’ve used Northstar Moving Company. The first time I was moved from San Fransisco to Phoenix. The second time was a local move in Phoenix about a year later. Both times I was extremely impressed with the ease of scheduling the move and the promptness of the movers. The movers are very conscientious packing belongings and moving up and downstairs. Everything was on time and taken care of as expected. I cannot recommend Northstar Moving enough.

This was my second move using Northstar. They were responsive at every point, efficient, and conscientious. I hope i won’t be moving again any time soon, but if so, i wouldn’t hesitate to call Northstar. I especially appreciate that they provide a “not to exceed” price, so no surprises.

Northstar moved my 1br +plus a large storage unit into a 3 bedroom house. There 3 movers and they began around 10am. The whole thing took many hours and the total came to about $1,300, which I think was a fair price. Let me explain.

They moved quickly. Other than a meal break they didn’t rest until the job was done and I feel they were efficient. It just takes a while to disassemble, wrap furniture, load, drive, unwrap, assemble, and put in the house exactly where we want it to go, which means trial and error.

Also, my house has stupidly narrow hallways and doorframes, so it took a long time to maneuver the fridge and large pieces, but I liked that. I would rather it take 10 minutes just to fit the fridge through the door than them just banging it through and hurting the wood frame.

Oh and they held the furniture on it’s side for us so we could attach sliders under ALL the furniture. So we made the service longer.

The point is it cost a lot of money, but based on my short conversations with other companies, Northstar’s pricing and terms were fair and we would hire them again.

I would give them 10 out of 5 stars. So easy to book my move (just about a week and a half out from our move day) and they were in constant communication confirming and ensuring I knew they would be there, on time, and ready to move us. Our team was so fast, we have had to move a lot, in a lot of places (Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles) so we’ve had some rough experiences. My husband was shocked when they were done- he was bracing himself for a long long day. It was a quick 4 hours and I paid exactly what I was quoted. This was so smooth, fast, no hidden costs, super polite and conscientious movers. I will use Northstar every time we have to move. I highly recommend!!

Almost ten years ago (based on a friend’s recommendation) we used NorthStar for a considerably easier job.

We loved them then so they were our first (and only) choice when it was time to move again. (Note: I initiated contact through Yelp, did not expect/want a barrage of quotes to come from OTHER movers–yes, I got offered several good deals, but I didn’t bother with them because they were not NorthStar.)

We’ve acquired a lot of heavy vintage furniture over the years, our new place is much more complicated to get to, we’re still in a pandemic, and despite it being mid-November, it was 80 degrees out. Not the best circumstances for moving. That didn’t matter.

The three-person team of Manny, Alfonso, and Willy were amazing! Throughout it all, they were masked up, carefully wrapping everything that needed it, carrying several heavy items upstairs with such grace, ensuring everything was in its proper place.

Now that the most stressful part of moving is out of the way, we can once again thank NorthStar for their stellar professionalism and excellent service and price! Considering everything, I don’t think you can get a better deal.
