What can I say? Edgar and his crew worked the magic! Came right on the dot and got everything done within the span of 3 hours.  I liked the double time confirmations, the day before and an hour prior. Great communications and teamwork. The guys knew exactly what they were doing and how I wanted them done.

From reservation to move completion, they made sure things followed through and gave me the best number among the quotes I received. NorthStar’s definitely one of the best movers I’ve worked with and would go back to them in a heart beat.

The 3 man NorthStar team moved my 1 bedroom worth of stuff (~10 small boxes, lamp, air purifier, heater, queen size mattress/frame, backpacking gear, misc) from South SF to SF in essentially 1 hour.

They were careful, speedy and polite. I was a bit stressed about moving but they made it a breeze.

The only suggestion I have is for the scheduler/coordinator to be on the same page with the team on the ground regarding things like their shoe bootie policy (FYI booties need to be provided by the client, not NorthStar).

Andy’s crew! Showed up at the appropriate time, worked fast and were extremely careful with all our belongings taking time to wrap things up awesome so they wouldn’t be damaged in the transport. All had great attitudes, work ethics, and made a long day of moving enjoyable. Do not look any further if you need movers as they will do a fantastic job and are priced very competitively! We don’t plan on moving for a long time!! Lol! But if the time comes we will be calling Northstar Movers again!!

Ours was a big move. 5 bedrooms. Took two trucks and 8 guys 11 hours, including a 45′ drive between our homes. No packing was required as we had packed everything.

It took more time than they estimated but there was no debate about increasing the Not to Exceed estimate.

The crew was unbelievably polite, efficient and thorough.

I’ve moved on average once a year for the past decade. Of the many moving companies I’ve experienced, Northstar Moving is solidly the best for quality to price ratio. When I moved for work, the companies my employer paid for were excellent and extremely detailed (numbering each item for packing and unpacking, thorough carpet protection, etc), but they were very pricey.

When I move on my own dime, I’m frugal and always ask around for multiple quotes. Northstar Moving had very reasonable pricing and consistently good reviews. Stephanie, the booking coordinator was professional and quick to respond. I received detailed confirmation emails with all the potential extra costs laid out and optional additional insurance. I also received a reminder call the day prior.

On moving day, the movers came right in the middle of the two hour estimated arrival window. I got a call about the actual eta 75 minutes in advance, and they were even a bit early. Edgar and his team were efficient, moving my 1 bedroom apartment in just under 3 hours, start to finish. For the price, I didn’t mind not having a checklist and some minor carpet scuffs.

I was impressed with how the movers went above and beyond to make sure my furniture was re-assembled and placed correctly. The team was courteous and friendly as well. I would definitely use Northstar Moving again!

This was my first time using movers in SF, and I’m so glad I went with NorthStar Moving. Not only were the rates competitive, but I was pleased with their communication and they also happened to be available a week from when I booked them.

Moving sucks, but this was the easiest part of the whole ordeal. Edgar and his crew were extremely efficient and professional. I originally thought it would be a 2-man crew, but there were three guys! Edgar gave me a call half an hour before they arrived. They made an otherwise hectic day much smoother by showing up on time (my original window was 8-10am and they arrived around 8:45am), wrapping and transporting items VERY quickly, and helping us unwrap items at our new apartment.

I was really impressed with their service and turnaround time. I would recommend them to anyone! If you’re debating going with a moving service or doing it on your own, I’d suggest going with NorthStar. They make the process easy, and it’s money well spent.

They were on time and fast. We got everything to the new place and moved in quickly. Navigating the city and moving apartments are definitely tricky but they made it easy for me and I’ll definitely use them again for my next move!

Every aspect of my experience with North Star Movers has been stellar and way beyond my expectations. I requested rates from 6 other movers and North Star gave me the most competitive rates. The crew that showed up to our house came on time and were incredible! I cannot express how grateful I am for their professionalism and care. We had so much big furniture but they were so expert, nothing scratched the walls. Everything arrived to our new place in the same condition as if it hadn’t been touched at all. Seriously, we had such a great experience with them. This was a very anxiety-inducing time for me but whenever I was on the phone with them and when they arrived, I felt an immediate sense of relief. These guys did a great job moving my stuff from storage to my new place in the pouring rain! I was worried about my things getting damaged because of the horrible weather but everything was in perfect condition. The movers were also super quick to get everything in despite the rain and unusually cold weather. They arrived on time and were very friendly. Most movers would probably be in a bad mood moving in this weather and having  to hike up a steep hill but they were in good spirits and in a good mood. I’ll never try to do a move on my own again! I highly recommend northstar in Chatsworth for both moving and storage. Five stars! Satisfied customer!

Miguel and his team provided excellent service – they hustled through a heavy downpour and loaded and unloaded quickly and efficiently. They were very helpful and polite. Every item was handled with great care. I highly recommend!

Today was moving day! My fiancé and I have been tirelessly renovating our new home and the thought of having to deal with the actual move was daunting. We have big items like flat screen TVs, couches, computer and desk, beds, dining table, chairs, etc on top of the numerous boxes of stuff that require heavy lifting and careful packaging. We called NorthStar as returning customers and they were so professional and easy to make an appointment with. Brandon, Randy and Andy arrived on time with friendly attitudes this morning and totally ready to get to work. They were diligent in taking care of our belongings and made sure to wrap and transport every item in tact. Their thoroughness, collaboration with one another, friendly demeanors and ability to get work done with haste made this moving day a complete breeze. We highly recommend this company to all of our friends – we had a great experience the first time and this experience just solidified the fact that this should be everyone’s go-to company for moving.

They called right on time and gave me an ETA of when they would arrive. They were very nice and thorough. Started with a walk-through of the house to see exactly what I would be bringing. They carefully wrapped everything and asked me questions if they weren’t sure, which I appreciated. When the delivered to my new home, they I wrapped everything and placed my things exactly where I wanted them. I’m so grateful because I was actually pretty stressed out about this move. The representative that helped me set the entire move up was very nice and answered all my questions. 3 guys showed up on the day of my move, I didn’t have much to be moved but with three guys it went much faster. They wrapped all of my stuff in blankets so it wouldn’t get messed up. And they moved super quick. I believe it took them 15 mins total to wrap everything up and get it out. Getting from downtown to where I live took them no time in that huge truck. I expected them to take much longer considering how big the truck was but they got arrived right after me. They brought everything in with no problem. And it only took an hour! I will definetly be referring them to everyone that needs to move. They were nice, efficient and quick which was everything I was looking for.

Andy and his team have been more than fantastic! Scheduling was amazing and they were very accommodating. He recognized I needed the help and if I had to move I would use them in a heart bit. The 3 guys were very nice and easy to work with. They took excellent care of all our things and wrapped everything. They even helped me with things I didn’t think about like the water cooler. The paperwork was a breeze and they used excellent materials. I loved the free wardrobe service for the closets. They were also amazing in installing all of our beds and putting all the things were they belonged. I loved their attitude and all their hard work! Thank you so very much! We are more than happy with all your super hard work!

Our team of movers did an EXCELLENT job! Andy’s crew were very efficient and hard-working. This is our 3rd time using Northstar and there is a reason we keep coming back. Great customer service and a timely and efficient move. Getting it done right the first time is so valuable! They showed up on time and got working quickly. Very very friendly eat easy to schedule. Northstar moving is a great company. We have never used movers before, but it was worth every penny.

Strengths:
– communication. The moving plan was super clear. Everyone seemed to be on the same page and we received several phone calls the week before to check in
-care. All of our things were intact when they arrived
-timeliness. They respected our time and were never late

Improvements:

-there were a few boxes left upstairs that we had to get ourselves and take in the car. I think just double checking next time would be helpful!

NorthStar was our first choice for a local move. I had already had a very good experience with them years ago for an in-state move and wasn’t interested in dealing with a sketchy company.

We opted to pack everything ourselves and have NorthStar move our things by truck. However, they do offer options like having them pack stuff up. We purchased most of our packing supplies from Home Depot or Amazon.

Just about everything from Ron’s free estimate at our place to the actual move by Ramiro and his team was done with the utmost professionalism and fortunately we had no major incidents with the move. They were careful and responsive.

During the estimate, Ron let me know that I was probably underestimating how much stuff we had (he was right, leave it to the professionals). Ramiro and his team moved quickly and communicated effectively.

Our priority was in getting our stuff moved safely by a reliable, professional company. In that regard they succeeded, which is why I’m writing this review.

Edgar and his team came on time and are very friendly. They were efficient at packing, communicated everything thoroughly with us, and stayed really organized throughout the process. They also took the time to put down plastic and everything to make sure our place doesn’t get dirty. When everything was unloaded, they took the time to read all the labels and boxes were put away in the right rooms. Overall really pleased with this moving process, definitely would recommend Northstar moving.

My move was from Toluca Lake to Culver City. Could have been a major pain, but turned out really well. I would definitely hire NorthStar to move my belongings again. They even managed to get to my new place really quickly on a rainy day– not easy to do with LA traffic.
