This is my second time using NorthStar to move, the first time from San Jose to Sunnyvale, this time from Sunnyvale to San Francisco. Props to the company in general for two easy movies both of which ended up costing less than the original estimate. This team today, lead by Edgar, was on time, friendly, professional, and fast. They got in and out of my place and then in and out of my boyfriends place (two pick-up spots) and then moved us in to our new apartment. No real issues, though for context it was a very easy move with only minor furniture. There was one minor issue with the leg of a mirror but we were reimbursed and all is well. 🙂

I will never ever move by myself again. NorthStar was the greatest purchase I have ever made. Super professional, timely, and they move quickly. Hardest thing I had to do was tell them we’re to put stuff.
We worked with Edgar and his team on our recent move. Every part of the process was super smooth! We were able to book last minute and they showed up promptly ready to go.
We quickly told them what needed to go and stay, what needed to be packed, etc. and they did it with little supervision. We had a lot of heavy furniture and they were able to pack up and move a 2-bedroom home in 3 hours. The team was positive, quick and a joy to be around.

I have used NorthStar for the past 14 years and over six moves and referred them numerous times. The reason being is what they quote is what I pay, they are fair, they are very careful and NOTHING has been damaged in all of my moves. They have to be sick if my marble tables;). Called to get a quote and they actually reduced their price to match a lower quote I received which was great. Pablo’s and his team came between the hours I had scheduled. They gave me a call about an hour a head of time before they arrived to give me a heads up. As soon as they came they started right away and finished pretty quickly. Got to our new house a little before I arrived and started unloading asking us where everything needed to be placed before they started moving. If you are looking for a quick and professional service to avoid the gassed of moving I would recommended using NorthStar.
I just had one of the best moving experiences I have ever had with this company, which is saying A LOT considering the multitude of times I have moved in my life. I have hired more movers than I can recall over a period of at least 20 years, and these guys were nothing short of amazing. Nelson was the guy in charge, and he was the coolest, most respectful and conscientious mover ever. His experience and expertise as a mover were very evident, even down to his knowledge of how to deal with moving my Sleep Number bed. Really hardworking and pleasant guy. They came on time, got straight to work and made suggestions and recommendations as needed to work efficiently. My piano, which I am always nervous about moving, made it safe and sound. They were also really great about moving this around at my new place when something didn’t look right, and they assembled my platform bed without me having to ask (Ive had movers in the past that have actually given me an eye-roll when Ive asked). I recommended them immediately to a friend who is moving in a couple of weeks, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone needing a stellar crew. Make sure you ask for Nelson! 🙂

Northstar pickup staff (Felipe, Rudy & Noe) packed my stuff efficiently and carefully. Similary, the drop off guys (Wilfredo & Kennon) checked the moving route first then executed the job efficiently with utmost care.
I also have to thank Michelle, the Northstar lady that did an innovative video estimate to do my quote within a short notice – the price fair and competitive. (The only thing I would suggest is to always double check contact info to make sure the msg is sent to the updated #.)
In conclusion, I am very satisfied with NorthStar moving company. Highly recommend to any friend, relatives and Yelpers.

What a great move. They took care of everything from packing to delivery. Jesse and his crew – Ted, Mark, Pablo – arrived ahead of time. We scheduled on short notice. They were highly professional. We were pleasantly surprised by all of the outcome. Jesse and his team did it on a weekend on top of things. They really got it done for is. The special needs were all done. There was not question. No issue.

Logan and his team are absolutely the best movers we have dealt with. They came in on time and completed the move of my business extremely quick. Everyone went smoothly and they were all a really professional group of guys! I would recommend them and the company. Extremely professional!
We’ve used Northstar five times; they are always reliable, efficient and professional. Our crew, Logan, Lloyd and Tavon called ahead so we wouldn’t worry, arrived early and got the job done in record time. They treat your possessions like heirlooms, wrapping and protecting everything carefully. And, they work quickly – which is nice as you are paying by the hour. Logan’s crew had us loaded in less than 2 hours even though they had to deal with elevators and narrow hallways.
Unloading went smoothly and everything was set up completely. All the trash and materials were removed and the whole job cost much less than the estimated maximum. Northstar’s people are always friendly and communicate well. This company will cost a little more, but this is well worth it in the ease, professionalism and quality of services.

Roger, Cristian and Luis were great. They were able to squeeze us in at short notice on a Sunday. They wrapped all large furniture expertly, dissassembled things, then reassembled for us at our new place. We had some large items that had to be taken down stairs and then up an elevator, and they were able to get everything up in one piece. Very professional and accommodating. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
Movers arrived on time and called us one hour prior to arrival. All three movers were extremely kind and asked us what we needed help and moved. All three movers went far and beyond the call of duty with our move. They moved quick and finished before the estimated time. I would highly recommend hiring NorthStar Movers as your movers. First time using professional movers and everything went quickly and smoothly. I was warned by friends and family that movers can move slow, show up late, and add charges as they go. My quote was accurate and the representative gave me detailed information upfront. She also didn’t try to overly up sell.

Great move from LA to SF. Movers were friendly and efficient. They came up, wrapped all furniture with blankets, shrink and love. Very professional move. I would totally recommend them to my family and friends. Once I get to SF, I will spread the word. This company is great. If I do move again, I will definitely use North Star as my moving company.
We booked northstar for a move from cole valley to west portal, and would absolutely recommend them and book them again for another move. They contacted me the next day after submitting a quote on their website, letting me know the movers will have plenty of supplies if we weren’t able to pack everything in time or find the right boxes. Jessie, Jason, and Mark arrived on time and quickly got us in and out. They were extremely careful and polite, it was a pleasure to hire them.
These guys were great! We moved from NYC 2 years ago with Moishie’s and NorthStar unloaded for us in CA. We had 43 stairs to the front door, in an old house, with heavy furniture and these guys took amazing care of the furniture and the house. Everyone was very polite and conscientious so I worked with them again on our move out of the house. This team was terrific. On time, hard working, polite and took excellent care of our stuff. I could tell they were very experienced as well. They unassembled and reassembled beds super fast, wrapped up important pieces and helped wrangle together the odds and ends you don’t realize you’re leaving behind. They asked before they laid down rugs to make sure they were in the right spots and if I wanted to vacuum (since they were dusty from the move) – it was things like that that were just so helpful in the long run. Definitely recommend these guys!
I just moved from LA to Houston, TX. I’m very happy with NorthStar and would use them again. I priced out about 3 moving companies and they were the least expensive. The price did go up after I had an in-person estimator come to see my home. Their price however was still cheaper than the others and this branch of NorthStar get excellent reviews. The estimator, the representatives on the phone and the movers were all very efficient and professional.
The only criticism I have is this tip that I give to anyone moving and wanting to save money. They charged me for 2 chairs when the chairs were stackable and only took up space of 1 chair.
