Just 2 days ago the crew from NorthStar Moving relocated me from Redondo Beach to La Jolla.
I’ve hired movers in the past, but it had been a while. Since this was a company move I was able to be a little more selective with quality and assurance. The positive experience started with the Estimator, Alan Nudel. He was prompt, knowledgeable and quickly to any questions or changes. While I was considering Bekins as a well known company, I ultimately went with Northstar because of my experience with the estimator and the reviews I had read. And, I’m glad I did!
A team of 3 movers showed up promptly at 8am; they are paid on a minimum of 8 hours. Louis, the Foreman explained the process and stated that he would do everything in his power to keep the quote at 8 hours (note: this move was based on me doing my own packing). True to his word, he and his team (Jason & Oscar) had me on the road 2 hours later, they got to the new location in 2 hours, and was back on the road home by 3pm. They were a great team, polite, courteous and very hard workers.
While I hope to God that I don’t have to move again soon, I would hire NorthStar again in a minute.

Everything went smoothly. The moving guys were really nice and super efficient. They got everything out of my place in an hour. They delivered my stuff in the designated time window and were even able to change the delivery time to work with my schedule. They also were super efficient when dropping everything off.
The best part – they didn’t rip me off!! It came up to be half the cost a lot of other companies quoted me. I used their yelp deal which made the cost even sweeter 🙂

I’ve reviewed these guys before on a local move that went great so we decided to use them again when we moved long distance. From the estimate, to the packing to the delivery, everything was great once again.
As someone who has been screwed by crooked moving companies in the past ( they’re all over be careful ) it’s a relief to get a company that tells you up front if something’s going to be delayed, cost more, etc…

If you’re looking for super fast, efficient and never failing punctuality for your upcoming move, you need to pick these guys. I’ve done a handful of interstate moves, and just thinking about the process makes me want forgo all my possessions and live on a beach in Bali forever, but knowing there is a business dedicated to getting your stuff to you SO FAST no matter where your destination is makes the stress somewhat bearable.
For my most recent move from LA to SF I used north star twice (I had a packed storage unit) which means they did 4 moves total. Each move they were EARLY and nearly beat me driving up to San Fran. It was a bit pricey at the end but you get pay for and they are very flexible with giving you deals. So go online and find those coupons, they will help! Northstar even accepted a coupon AFTER my move was complete and paid for. They went out of their way to refund my credit card for the coupon amount which I forgot about until everything was done. Definitely will use them again.
