We had an amazing experience with NorthStar moving company today for our 3-Bedroom move (involving heavy exercise equipment and a garage as well!) I have moved within Los Angeles using this company twice now, and both times it was an incredible experience. Our move required five men, and every single one of the movers was extremely skilled, courteous, and went the extra mile to make sure our needs were met.
For example, we had some items that were still wall mounted and NorthStar Moving Company helped us a lot. In the past, another moving company we used previously argued that they “are not carpenters” and that they are “not handyman” refused to help with wall-mounted items. NorthStar moving, however, was happy to handle wall mounted items and even disassemble items in some cases.
They also handled every item with care, wrapping art and Furniture carefully sear in short items were protected.
Finally, the price was reasonable and came out cheaper than our last move.
I highly recommend NorthStar moving company. They are my absolute favorite moving company, and I will be using them for all my future moves!

NorthStar Movers are magicians! I still can’t figure out how they did it. I live in a 300-unit 17 story high rise that is being renovated. While my apartment is under renovation I was being moved to another vacant apartment in the building. Eight of us on my floor were being moved at the same time by eight different crews. NorthStar was doing all the packing also. You would think with all that traffic, something would end up in the wrong apartment. Instead the opposite happened. How did the movers know how to put all my things in the temp apartment exactly where they had been in my original apartment? Furniture, dishes, pots/pans, flatware, bathroom toiletries, valuable paintings carefully bubble-wrapped, 4 closets of clothes? How is that even possible? Nothing was labeled. They did it so fast by memory, that by the time I got from my apartment to the other, it was finished and I didn’t even get to see how they did it. Everyone on the crew spoke English, but I didn’t even need to give them directions. There’s only one explanation: NorthStar Movers are magicians!
NorthStar Moving made my move from CA to AZ about as transparent, straightforward and easy as you could hope for. I reached out for a quote based on a search for high quality competitively priced moving companies. I did not want a broker as I was looking for a company that would handle the packing, storage and unloading themselves. The rep I worked with to complete my quote was fantastic. Very thorough and the quote was all in no surprises and fair. It was the cheapest but it was within range of what I expected to pay based on the quality I was looking for. The crew that did the packing was on time and professional. They took care with our belongings and packed according to the agreement reached including crating our one of kind art work and handling a very overstuffed garage. The storage was handled perfectly and all of our items arrived undamaged. We have moved in state, across states and to and back from Hawaii with my job. I have never escaped damage until this move!! The unloading crew was beyond expectations. Communication’s throughout were thorough and I knew what to expect. They arrived promptly on time. Worked with us on the much larger house. Took care to avoid any damage to the property. Even helped us move new furniture we had delivered and staged awaiting the delivery from this team. They even helped my son and I mount a TV quickly on the wall. They hauled away the boxes we were able to empty while they were here at no additional fee! I cannot recommend NorthStar Moving highly enough. You get what you pay for – and it’s worth not going with the cheapest you find. If we ever have to move again – this will be my one and only call.

I cannot say enough positive things about NorthStar Moving Company. From the very first interaction through final delivery, the entire experience was seamless, professional, and genuinely impressive.
From the start, Anna was incredibly informative and helpful. She promptly set up an appointment for a video estimate of my fully furnished two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment in the Playa del Rey area of Los Angeles. The video assessment was efficient, thorough, and reassuring. Shortly after, Ron Cohen sent me a detailed estimate and contract, and from that point on, everything moved forward smoothly and with complete transparency.
Ron was consistently flexible with my schedule and accommodating of my requests, which made an already stressful life transition far easier. Communication was clear, timely, and professional at every step.
On the day of the move, the packing team exceeded every expectation. They packed my entire apartment with exceptional care and attention to detail. My fully equipped kitchen was wrapped and boxed meticulously. My dining room furniture, delicate and intricate sculptures, and original artwork were all handled with remarkable precision and respect. The team worked efficiently while never rushing, and they consistently checked in with me, asked thoughtful questions, and made sure I was aware of how and why items were being packed a certain way. Their professionalism, intentionality, and pride in their work were evident throughout the entire process.
From an administrative standpoint, everything was equally smooth. The coordination and communication between departments was impressive. From the initial video assessment with Ron, to the insurance correspondence handled by Kristi Hahn, to the electronic payments processed by Alejandra Becerra, every interaction was easy, clear, and well organized.
I want to especially recognize Alejandra Becerra from Operations. On the day of the move, she personally called multiple times to check in, ensuring everything was going well and addressing any questions along the way. She even called again once the team finished packing to make sure I was fully satisfied. That level of care, follow-through, and accountability is rare. Well done, Alejandra.
The delivery experience was just as impressive. My belongings were packed in Los Angeles on a Friday, and by Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m., the NorthStar team had already arrived at my storage facility for delivery. The unloading process was handled with incredible precision and organization. Every item was placed intentionally, carefully, and thoughtfully. The entire delivery was efficient, calm, and extremely well executed.
I could not be happier with the quality of service NorthStar provided. They turned what could have been a stressful, overwhelming cross-state move into a smooth and reassuring experience. Every person I interacted with demonstrated professionalism, care, and genuine dedication to their work.

This is my second move with North star this week. These guys are so fast and efficient. Had to move a 1600 sq ft house and as usual no problems at all. Furniture and walls are exactly as they were before the move in both houses. Employees are professional and all good people. Would use them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend.

They were all friendly and hard working moving all our stuff into our first home. We have two small boys with plenty of odd shaped kiddie toys and sports gear. We also have a large number paintings and other art work. Luis R’s team did a great job by carefully packing and moving all our. We couldn’t have asked for better movers!
It was a substantial move and I approached it with more than a little anxiety. I did research on moving companies and found that the reported problems were frightening (damage, shipments held hostage, etc.). I put the move out to bid and found NorthStar was not the lowest but was very competitive and had by far the best reviews and recommendations, and as I worked with them, I saw that they earned their excellent reviews, from start to finish. Here’s our experience:
Estimated Cost: They gave me an estimate, based on the inventory I provided them, with easy to understand calculation of their pricing. Everything is based on weight, not the number of boxes or the amount of time it takes to load or unload, which was different from the local moves I’d done in the past. This meant that the cost was very reasonable, even for a 3,000 mile move. Samantha was our rep and she was very helpful in explaining everything, so no surprises.
Pick-Up: Erik, Melvin and two others (apologies for not getting the names) did an amazing job of wrapping furniture and loading everything and were extremely friendly and helpful. I was a careful packer but had them pack a lamp in their special boxes and was glad I did. I also purchased a dozen blankets in advance, which saved some money and they used all of them plus a few of theirs. The cost for their packing materials was less than I could get on my own. They did a careful inventory and then gave me an updated estimate.
Actual Cost: After the shipment was picked up, it was weighed, item by item, to get an actual cost. We ended up shipping significantly more than originally anticipated (not uncommon) our revised bid reflected that. Our final cost was actually less than the revised bid. Happy surprise.
Move Updates: We signed a contract based on an actual pick-up date and a window for delivery. I was nervous not knowing the actual delivery date, but Illyas, our dispatcher, provided ongoing updates and we were able to plan accordingly. We got preliminary schedule after the shipment was weighed, along the route, 24 hours in advance and 1 hour in advance. We were so grateful they got everything there within the delivery window, before my daughter started classes.
Delivery: The two people who delivered could not have been nicer. They placed furniture, assembling the bedroom set, attaching the mirror to the dresser, etc., and placed the TV and printer where they needed to go, which would have been hard for my daughter to do on her own. All boxes marked fragile were in perfect shape. Boxes not marked fragile were treated a little more roughly, but everything arrived in good shape and all boxes were intact.
Follow-Up: Both the day of delivery and after having a chance to unpack, NorthStar called to make sure everything was fine. We found a damaged lamp shade and they were great about compensating us for that (Ram was especially helpful). They have a form they emailed us and it was easy. Given the move (2,500 pounds over 3,000 miles), I was delighted that this was the only problem and they resolved it beautifully.
I wholeheartedly recommend NorthStar. It’s scary to move long distance and they made it as easy as possible.
