This letter refers to the move which your company handled for me. 

As you know, most of us who value sentimental and irreplaceable belongings are extremely skeptical when it comes to trusting movers. Something always goes wrong. If something doesn’t break, then surely the charges will break. .. the bank! At least that has been my experience time and time again. It seems impossible to find reliable and honest movers.

Even when the NorthStar customer service agent took my order with efficiency, promising me that your company was better than the others, I still had my doubts. I knew that somehow, something would go wrong. The only thing that did go wrong, however, was my preconceived notion that NorthStar would turn out to be like all the others. In fact, NorthStar hugely exceeded my every expectation.

Here are just a few of the things that NorthStar did throughout the move which changed my perspective and created a lasting impression:

1. The NorthStar customer service representative was very accommodating to my schedule and extremely diligent about specifying all of the itemized charges to expect during the move.
2. The NorthStar moving crew showed up on time.
3. Packing and loading was done quickly and efficiently. Nothing at all was damaged or broken during the move.
4. All of my telephone calls to the NorthStar main office were handled very efficiently.
5. Two NorthStar managers called me at the end of the day to ensure that I was satisfied with my service. They were most empathetic to me as a customer and demonstrated a sincerity that truly surpassed my expectations.

I work at an aerospace company that exports aircraft parts to airlines with critical time requirements. As you can imagine, customer service is everything in my business. Yet as critical of customer service as I am trained to be, I cannot offer you any suggestions as to how you can improve your service. Everything was done to perfection and this is why I am writing you this letter.

Thank you for your excellence and for proving that there is at least one moving company that lives up to its promises. I will certainly refer you to anyone I know making a move. NorthStar truly won me over, and is the only company that I will even consider using for my future business and residential moves.

Your company recently moved our household and we are writing to you to thank you and Northstar for the excellent job. It was a bit of a last minute assignment due to escrow problems but your company provided an excellent and fair quote. When the young men and trucks showed up (on time) they were pleasant, courteous and wonderful workers. I actually saw them running to pack things, there was no time wasted, no socializing and they really worked hard. We are very precises about things and worked very hard ont he moving prep, to see our possessions taken care of in such a professional and careful manner (particularly my antique hutch) was a delight and to see young men work so hard trying to do the best for us was an even bigger delight.

I recently moved from Simi Valley California to Fruita Colorado and contracted with your company to accomplish this long-distance move. I just had to write to let you know how satisfied I was with your service, price and especially your people. 

I originally contracted your company in early October of last year after having done research on the Internet to find the most reputable company with the best prices. I had seen the 60 Minutes show regarding moving company fraud and din’t want to be an uninformed consumer. Yolanda was the lady who first gave me estimates based on my description of my furniture. She was friendly, professional, and right on the money with the figures. The entire move was actually a less than I anticipated. 

The day of the move a four-man crew arrived right on time. I am handicapped and was worried how well I would be able to handle directing what items were to be packed, what furniture was moving and what was staying. They were incredible. They treated my things as if they were antiques, even though they were not. They anticipated what I needed and I was able to just sit back and watch it all happen and they were speedy also. 

I was told about the window when my furniture would be arriving. When I arrived in Colorado the day before New Year’s Eve, it was at the beginning of a huge snowstorm that had most of Western United States in bad weather for several weeks. I called and was told about the weather situation and that it may take a while for my furniture to get to me. I was assure it would be within the 3-week window. I called every five or six days and mostly spoke to Rose who promptly checked the progress of my move and let me know what was happening. Toward the end of the 21-day window I was offered a $50.00 discount if I would accept a later delivery. Because of my handicap I felt that I needed my furniture and things as soon as possible so I declined. My furniture arrived a couple of days later. It was 19 days after pickup. I was happy. 

The husband and wife team who delivered my furniture were also incredible. They were professional and very helpful. They had my house put together in a few short hours with everything in wonderful condition. 

The circumstances surrounding my move were very unhappy, but your people made the situation better than it could have been. All in all I had a great experience with your company.

I am writing this letter to express my family’s sincere gratitude and thanks for the incredibly professional job that your men performed while moving our family, not once but three times since September 9th 2001. I must tell you that the Project Manager on all of the jobs.  Gadi Avigzer, is really one of the most honorable and professional men that I have worked with in quite some time. We became friends the first time we met. He has such a natural way of putting people at ease. Before you know it, several hours have passed and we have discussed everything from proper packing technique to politics. The fact that he is devoted to his family and friends here and in Israel is another reason that I respect him so highly. The first move he arranged for us was particularly emotional and stressful for me because my husband was working in London and I had to oversee the move without him. I found out later that Gadi made a special note of this on the paperwork for his crew, telling them that I was “stressed and nervous” and to treat me with special care, which they did. He also gave me his home number and told me to call with any worries I had, day or night. I definitely took him up on it. We moved into a temporary house until our house in Pacific Palisades was available. We decided to move back to our old neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley for various reasons. We found our current house, a beautiful property in Toluca Lake and again Gadi and his crew ,came to pack us up and move us. During the packing up process one of the men found our 14-year-old daughter’s wallet on the floor, which contained $600 cash. He brought it to me without hesitation because that is the type of man that works for your company. Since our daughter will be going to college shortly we have decided to buy an apartment or condo overlooking the ocean in Santa Monica. Needless to say once again we will be calling Northstar, Gadi, and his crew to negotiate the move for us. We wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am writing to thank you and all of the staff of Northstar Moving Corporation for the excellent moving service Northstar has provided to me over the course of three moves. 

I have relocated throughout the United States many times since 1982 for my career; in fact, I have moved every year since 1994. I have worked with most of the major carriers in the U.S. for local and long distance moves. I was very lucky to find your advertising banner on Move.com in 2001 when I needed to move locally in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

From my first call to Ted, who coordinates Northstar’s local moves, through the completion of the move itself, I was treated with respect; my goods were handled carefully and efficiently; and I was charged a very fair price. Therefore, when I decided to move locally in 2002 I called Northstar and again had an excellent moving experience. 

Recently I relocated to Washington, DC and I called Northstar to arrange for this long-distance move. I had the opportunity to work with you and with Kimberly of Moishe’s Moving Systems in New York City, and you both coordinated the relocation excellently. But the real stars of the show were the supervisors of the moving pick-up and delivery, Erez in California for Northstar and Omri in Washington, DC for Moishe’s. 

I knew that Northstar’s teams prepare and load customers’ goods with care, but I was unprepared for the extent that Erez and his team would go to in ensuring that my furniture was protected during this long-distance move. I do not have expensive or antique furniture, but Erez and his team wrapped every piece of furniture as if each was invaluable. 

When Omri and his helper delivered the furniture in Washington, DC, they could not do enough to make sure that each item was positioned where I wanted it and that I was satisfied with their work. And they finished the unloading in less than two hours. 

Finally, I was most pleasantly surprised by the cost of this move. With the quality of your moving services, I expected to pay much more than I did!

Mr. Katalan, I have only one regret. I wish Northstar had an affiliate in Washington, DC for local moves since I expect to move locally again next year. I know that my future moving companies will never meet the customer service standards set by Northstar Moving Corporation since Northstar is the Best!
