I needed to move in a matter of 3 days. After calling several other moving companies and NO one calling me back, Ana at North star not only told that yes they can help me, but also eased my mind that all would taken care of.
The customer service people even called on Sunday (when they are closed) to confirm the move on Tuesday.

Called at 7:15 in the a.m. letting me know they were 10 minutes away.
The window of time was 7-9 and I was thrilled not to have to wait long.
Once these guys arrived there was no messing around to keep the clock ticking.
They hustled and got the whole job done with in the 3 hour minimum that I was quoted.
I actually paid LESS then I expected.
If you need movers this is a great company.

“Woohoo! As good as it gets!” is the default Yelp message that pops up when you give a company 5 stars. This is my fourth time using NorthStar, and I can honestly say that their moving service lives up to it. Moving is stressful, but NorthStar makes it so much easier. They bring 3 movers and a big truck and a bunch of moving supplies. They take care not to damage anything. For instance, my artwork got wrapped properly and despite the fact that it’s fragile, it came to the new place pristine! Same with my furniture. They do all the heavy lifting and work efficiently. I *highly* recommend NorthStar for your next move!
This was my third time in 20 years using NorthStar for a move. I am so grateful that they have maintained their high level of professionalism in all that time. My home is under remodel while we are living in it. Mario, Lamore & team were great at helping me figure out where all the furniture from the living room and dining room could fit in other rooms & moving items between multiple floors. Most importantly, they were great at keeping me calm when I was stressing out over other things. This was not an easy job as they were moving antiques, heavy marble tables and oversized pieces up stairs, around tough corners and into small spaces. They have extremely reasonable rates, arrived on time & called ahead as promised. They do charge extra for wrapping delicate items but it’s worth the time & expense to keep items nick-free and safe. Given how reasonable their hourly rate is, pay the extra (!) since anyone who cares about their antiques should oversee the process and wrapping themselves. Don’t expect the movers to have the knowledge of an antique dealer & automatically know the value of your grandmother’s dining room chair set; but if you tell them, they handle items with kid gloves.
I highly recommend this company. I will be using them again next month when all this renovation madness is over and everything goes back into its place!

This was by far the best experience I’ve ever had with movers. Kevin P and Jesus G were my movers and they were OUTSTANDING. They were super nice and helpful…fulfilling every request. They were also quick and efficient. And…they got my stuff home without one scratch. I couldn’t be any happier with my experience. I will definitely be using them again for the next move!
We are just wrapping up the first part of our move from Oakland to Vancouver, Washington. Kevin and his crew did an AWESOME job today. We had prepped and packed for almost a week, and were ready when the crew showed up. Kevin was professional, helpful, and friendly as were the entire crew of 5. We have a 4-level house in the Oakland hills, and it is difficult to get to. From the moment they arrived, the crew went to work and didn’t take a single break. They got our 3,100 square foot house loaded into their truck in four hours, all with a great attitude and attention to detail. They were the hardest working team we have ever seen. We were pleasantly surprised, as we have always moved our own stuff, and this is the first time we have used professional movers. We could not be more pleased.
Even though the price had a lot of add-ons from the original quote, we had a LOT more stuff than we thought and the weight came out well above the initial cost. This was anticipated and Jason at dispatch made it all clear ahead of time, so there was no confusion.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend NorthStar, and in particular, Kevin. He was super professional, friendly, and helpful to us throughout the process. THANKS MUCH!!

These guys are as professional as it gets. They arrived on time, had all the packing equipment we needed to protect the furniture and fragile items. They worked so fast, had our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment packed up in no time at all. The 3 of then were also courteous and had a very positive, can-do attitude. Moving can be very stressful, but this one was the easiest I’ve ever done thanks to Northstar. They handled furniture disassembly and reassembly too, which was amazing since I had lost the instructions to several of the items like the entertainment cabinet. I have to say that I would absolutely use this company again, and would recommend them to a friend or colleague without hesitation. I’d use them even if they cost twice what they do, very affordable and excellent experience. Ask for Jesse, Emanuel and Emannuel, you will NOT regret it!
Jesse, Emmanuel, and Isaias are awesome!! They are so friendly, personable, and polite. They were on time too! They worked quickly and efficiently. They even took apart our bed frame without us asking. And they put it back together too! Their wrapping skills are awesome! They really took good care of all our stuff. It amazes my husband and I how great they are, yet also very affordable. We highly recommend these three guys, and North Star! We know next time we move we’re calling North Star, and specifically requesting Jesse, Emmanuel, and Isaias!! And Beatrice was also very friendly and easy to deal with when I made the appointment. Of all the movers I’ve dealt with, North Star is the best!

This company will be your best investment when moving. Junior, Kevin and Waldo were great. They were super efficient and experienced. Also very respectful and honest.
