The service experience had to be exceptional to get me to convert from a casual Yelp reader to register and become a contributor.
Based on another Yelp review, I used Northstar to move some furniture from the Bay Area to Los Angeles. The estimate process was easy; follow-up from Northstar was great and timely. The phone representatives were easy to work with and accommodating. The team (Miguel, Vidal, and Ricardo) showed up as promised; they were friendly and professional. They quickly and carefully wrapped all the pieces with great care; movement of the items was efficient and demonstrated expertise. All furniture pieces were blanket wrapped and then plastic wrapped. Small pieces removed (like legs and shelves) were paper wrapped and boxed nicely; I could not have hoped for better service. There were no unexpected costs or hassles in the process; the cost was consistent with the estimate.
I highly recommend Northstar moving services and specifically this local Bay Area team.

Used Northstar for my in town move in Glendale. The crew that did the move was great. They were on time and professional. My only issue is that the company charges for packing tape – is that normal?. I mean when you are moving furniture and putting packing blankets around it you are going to use tape so shouldn’t that have been factored into the quote I got? I would use the company again though.
I used NorthStar moving to take my stuff from a storage unit to a 3rd floor walk-up condo in SF. I scheduled the move rather last minute but Stefy at headquarters was able to fit me in and confirm my move almost immediately after I first reached out. NorthStar made my move as easy as it could possibly be. They provided very accurate information about costs, shipment conditions, and timing. I received a call 24 hours before the move and then 1hr before the movers came. Adrian, Julio, and Rodolfo did a great job and worked hard to make the move within the three hours, which was the initial estimate. Adrian walked me through the paperwork in a quick and professional manner, and answered thoroughly to all my questions. I definitely recommend them.
Great movers! Miguel, Diego, Bidal called me before to let me know when they would be arriving and didn’t start the time until they truly started moving. They were efficient, friendly, and careful. We had just painted the hallway at the new house and they didn’t scratch the walls at all. They were absolutely great, from an industry where I’ve learned to expect poor customer service, Miguel, Diego, and Bidal were phenomenal. If you are wondering which crew to use, look no further.

OK I’ve moved bfore and had terrible issues with movers. I was “gun shy” as it is said. Thanks to this company, Raymond and his crew, it was flawless! They were friendly and fun, highly efficient and fast. I can’t say what a relief it was to have such a positive experience. They moved my two bedroom apt full of very heavy things and wrapped everything that I was worried about. Yes I paid for it but, the key is to have the estimator come to your house so you can get their “not to exceed price” Michael came to my house and was $27 off but, I only paid the estimated price.
These 4 guys worked their butts off and yes they got a tip for that. (Did I mention hauling my heavy things up four flights of stairs at the destination?” I only moved about 8 miles away, but I was worn out just carrying the left overs that I wanted to take myself. I packed all my stuff before thay came so I was ready.

This is an amazing moving company! The guys were SO efficient and professional. They were so trustworthy that I left them at my place while taking my cat over to the new place. Luis, Richard, and Miguel are some of the hardest working men I’ve seen! I will definitely use them again for my next move 🙂

We worked with Gustavo and his crew and they did amazing work. Not only were they extremely efficient, and polite, but they were a pleasure to work with. Today I moved from a 5th floor unit on a busy street in Pacific Heights to a basement, garden unit on a small one way street in Cole Valley – no small feet.

Where do I even begin?! To say that Hannes, Daniel and Kenny are very efficient and super bad asses, would be an understatement. Those 3 guys helped my husband and I move out of our apartment to a 3 level home. They arrived and did a quick look around the place and got right into it. They wrapped, blanketed and taped up everything and on our way we went. Poor guys, they brought up our washer and dryer to the 3rd floor!! Never did I hear them complain. They are great at what they do. They are moving beasts!! Don’t be fooled by their size – they can carry and move just about anything. If my husband and I ever move again, I would definitely use these guys again and request them specifically! Just a tip for fellow yelpers, purchase your own shrink wrap and tape 🙂

We had done most of the packing and kept it all ready. We packed the balance stuff as they started loading the truck. We may have come in their way but all through the move, it was clear that they were concerned about how much we’ll end up spending on the move and were constantly trying to be as efficient as they could.
They came over… Philip explained everything to me, completed paperwork while the other 2 got down to work.
They had to bring down our furniture and 50+ boxes from first floor (stairs) and deliver it to 5th floor apartment (elevator and long corridor) .
All in all, very happy with the experience. We’ll use NorthStar and recommend without any hesitation or reservation!

Gustavo and his crew were great. They showed up early and to move about 30 miles took only the minimum time. They packed everything and moved it quickly and easily. That’s no small task when the apartment building is old and difficult to get in and out of. Would recommend to anyone moving in the Bay Area.
