Move me on a Sunday? No problem.
Punctual? Move was scheduled for 0800-1000. Jason called at 0730 and asked if they could arrive earlier. Jason and his team (Gustavo, Rudolpho, Rene) were at our door-step at 0745.
Efficient? They had us packed, moved into our new place, and left by 1230. We did facilitate the move by selling some furniture and transferring over all of our clothing and kitchen stuff.
Careful? Yes. No marked/dented walls or scratched floors at our destination. We did transfer most of our breakable/valuable stuff before the actual move day.
Would I hire them again? Absolutely. Because of the work that we did before the move, the actual price came out to 50% of the estimate. I have moved multiple times and I would rate this experience in the top two of my moves (and I hate moving).

This was the best moving experience I have ever had. The movers arrived right on time, and were incredibly polite and helpful. They were fast and efficient and had our entire apartment moved in under three hours–we were so impressed. They charge by the hour, but it was clear they were not working the clock! They were also really careful with our stuff, and helped us break down everything and then put it back together. NorthStar did it again! They moved everything from my 4 story walk-up to my new place and they did so in record time. No damages or boxes left behind, crew was great, really appreciate the speed that they moved! Call me a still-very-satisfied customer!

I’ve moved and used storage several times in my life – working with Northstar has completely lowered my stress level. We had a great experience with NorthStar on a recent move from LA to Santa Barbara. Ron Cohen gave us a fast and accurate quote, and the pickup and delivery teams both arrived on time, were very professional and did an great job overall. Very happy.
If i could give them 10 stars I would! I moved fro Alameda to Denver last month and Northstar’s reps were amazing! I wasn’t finished packing when foreman Jason and his crew arrived but they were unfazed. They went straight to work helping me finish packing and supplying larger boxes and securing those i packed. On the other side, Ivan Rodriguez and Rick Rivera also did an amazing job in getting everything moved in and set up in record time!
I found NorthStar online while browsing through trying to find a cost effective moving company suitable for small moves like mine. I am glad that I found them. They were able to provide me a quote that suited my budget and do the job they signed up for very promptly. I had to move my 1 bedroom home from Southern California to Bay Area. They arrived on time, and did the necessary packing/uploading in less than couple hours. I was told that shipment would arrive at the destination in about a week, but was surprised to hear from them in about 2 days. All the employees were very courteous. Overall I would go with NorthStar anytime I need a move in future, and recommend them with a 5 star as well.
Once again, Northstar comes through. This is the sixth time I have used them for my move ( yes, I know, for one who hates moving–I have moved a lot). From the moment I spoke with Anna until the last box was loaded into my new home, Northstar was helpful, professional, efficient, and punctual. The arrangements were made and the date set. The three guys arrived on time and immediately began to move me. This was a difficult move–stairs at both ends–but everything was handled with efficiency and care. Let’s hear it for professional movers in general and Northstar in particular. I hope that this will be my last move, but, should I have to do it again, Northstar will be my mover of choice. Impeccable service and reasonable rates…who could ask for more?!

Move number FOUR with NorthStar Moving Company over the last five years, and they just keep getting better and better! This was a big one – a move from Hollywood to Marina Del Rey, and once again the service went beyond my expectations.

Worth every penny! David and his team were great! Wrapped all furniture and even stuff I should have packed better showed up intact. Moved a two bed apartment from SF to San Rafael for about $1200 and I felt like that was a deal when I saw how hard they worked. I hired three movers… Probably should have done four. I would recommend northstar to anyone!
Jessica was amazing! Got my move from Pasadena CA to Las Cruces NM and took 3 days. Movers came and loaded everything for me and boxed up a few items for me. They also packaged up my 2 flat screen TVs. Everything came and the movers did all the work. They called me about 45 min away and when they got to my new house they unloaded everything for me. I will use them again if I ever have to move again.

Had a great experience with them. They showed up on time and laid out an estimate along with pointing out some things before they started. Everything went smoothly and they were able to move a piano (my biggest worry) much quicker than the piano movers that moved it in! A very good experience overall and definitely recommend them.
I hired Northstar based on the referral of a family member who had seen them on Angie’s List. Omar and his two helpers were awesome: professional, courteous, friendly, and made me feel that I was good hands and I was able to relax and what is traditionally a very stressful day. Because of these movers, this was probably one of the least stressful days I have had leading up to this move. When I make another move in the near future, I will most definitely use them.
I used NorthStar for a long distance move from LA to Houston in mid-September. The entire process was very easy and quick….plus they gave me a great rate! The crew arrived on time and immediately began taking furniture and boxes down to their truck. The load-up took about 2 hours…much faster then I thought it would take. About a week later, my furniture/boxes arrived in Houston–right on time. Even though a different crew unloaded everything, they were just as nice and professional as the load-up crew. Overall, I would definitely suggest using this company for any moving/relocation need!
Moving is generally one of the most stressful events in your life, but NorthStar Moving made it really easy. They showed up on time (early even!), all the members of the team were personable and courteous, and they did the job quickly and efficiently. They are also pretty inexpensive. We moved from an apartment in SF to a house in the peninsula and the entire move cost much less than $800, including the Yelp coupon. It was a great deal.

I recently moved two households from the Bay Area to Saint Helena, in Napa, Wine Country. Should I move again, I will call North Star first. Their service was exemplary and the crew was polite, efficient and considerate, The price was reasonable and the service was great, most impressive. I wholeheartedly recommend North Star movers.
This is my 3rd move in 2 1/2 years and I have used North Star each time. I have never been disappointed, they have been super punctual, my crew of 3 worked their butts off, finished a little early and a little under the written estimate (always good). My previous move (2nd move) was to put all my belongings into storage and I asked them to pack for me too. First time I had ever done that, always thought it would be too expensive and I would save money. What was I thinking – I will never pack again. I saved money AND time by having North Star do all the work and provide the supplies. It actually cost less than what I had spent on boxes, packing tape and material. They literally packed everything all in one day and then picked up everything the next day and put it into my storage. Great Job! So this last move (3rd move), was a bit more complex, since I was not going to take everything out of storage, but needed to move what I was not taking into a smaller storage, then stop at my sister’s where I had been living for year and pick up, boxes, plants and a refrigerator and then take it all to my new apartment. Again these guys were professional, fast and always respectful.
The first moves that North Star did for me, not a single thing was broken or damaged. This time there were a few items broken and a couple nicks – things happen, but the cool part is that they were the ones to bring it to my attention and suggest that I call Customer Service the next day to see if they would give me a discount. It is important to know that if you don’t buy additional insurance (through a separate agent), then you get only a very basic coverage by a mover (this is pretty standard in the industry) of .39 cents per pound. I knew this upfront and have not purchased additional coverage, so needless to say I would only be entitled to a nominal fee for my damages. But the customer services department offered me a $50 credit/refund check for my damage, without having to go through a long claim process (which was more than I would have been able to get with the nominal insurance coverage). It certainly didn’t cover my damages, but I took that risk by choosing not to buy additional coverage, so no complaints here.
Hey, but wait, it gets better. I moved in the beginning of Sept. and today (mid-Oct.), I get a call from Ron (he is my estimator – I say mine, because he coordinated and estimated all 3 of my moves – I have his name and number programed into my phone), he was calling just to follow-up on how the move went for me. I told him that I was happy, that the guys worked hard and then I mentioned that there had been some damage this time, but that Customer Service had been kind enough to give me a credit of $50 and that I appreciated it. He asked what had been damaged and how much I thought that I had cost. Then he said that he would talk with customer services and see if he could get me an additional $50. Well, Alma (customer service) called me within an hour and asked me to verify my address so she could send me a check for $100.
