Awesome crew! Mike B., the foreman with Brandon MC. and Sam R. Showed up on time, negotiated a very difficult situation of getting the huge truck onto my driveway, packed and loaded within the estimated load time (actually 1/2 hour earlier), arrived on time (not missing to call me when they stopped for a 1/2 hour lunch) unloaded within the estimated time and the deed was done! Very cool young men who worked hard and diligently, showed great patience when moving things into the new house and helped move a few things a couple of times. Thank you North Star Moving Company, a stressful day went by easy and smooth! To the young men, Mike, Brandon and Sam, who moved all my stuff, thanks guys you were an awesome team! It was really cool working with you!

Our movers showed up so promptly we were barely prepared for them. A great team of three guys worked quickly to get us moved. The large items were wrapped in blankets and taped to protect them so everything arrived in the condition it left in. The woman on the phone even referred us to the Yelp Deal which was appreciated. Overall, NorthStar made a stressful, busy day a lot more pleasant. Thanks NorthStar.

I read the reviews, and NorthStar Moving Company sounded great. They are better than great. They arrived 07:45 for the promised 8-10 arrival. The 3 guys emptied my house so fast that I had to rush to keep up. They were polite and courteous when I wanted to check and re-check that I had gotten everything. Then to my new apartment, and the guys emptied the truck very quickly. I got a 5% discount from my apartment complex, and bought the $125 off for $50 Yelp coupon, so my entire move was very reasonable. Great job, NorthStar!

Sal, David and Oscar helped us move out of our apartment in the Peninsula to our new condo in South Bay. They were hard working and worked very quickly.  Lynn helped us coordinate the move and was readily available and easy to communicate with.

Everything arrived at the condo in perfect condition. But what really impressed is that they reassembled our bed without us having to ask. Maybe this is standard but we really appreciated it. They also helped us transport donations to the Salvation Army.

All in all, we were quite pleased with the whole experience, especially for the price. Thank you NorthStar! 

Long overdue, but that’s because I was out of the country. North Star is 5 stars. We had Jimmy, Ray and a super sweet guy whose name I can’t remember move us. They were “A” crew material. 3 guys came to move us from a two story house in the Presidio all the way to Berkeley. 

-Break down
-Wrap EVERYTHING (no im  serious, everything…antique dining room table, king bed, antique secretary….)
-(we packed the boxes….but we were still helping pack when they were leaving)
-Move everything into the truck tightly
-Get everything out of the truck into the proper rooms to the third floor of a building with no elevator
-Work non-stop, take no breaks and have fun doing it the entire time.

At the end of the move I forgot to tell them I had a Yelp deal and they worked it in and even tried making sure I got the lowest rate I could. These guys were super super all stars and seriously worth every penny.

I had called Delancy and One Man and a bunch of other people, but listen — when it comes to moving your stuff — you want quality. Sure other people might quote you less, but the communication with these guys is awesome, they always email/call back and don’t ignore voice mail messages like some other people.

Plus this is now the 3rd time I had someone else tell me these guys are legit. 3 separate experiences by individuals who barely know  each other and everyone says these are work super hard and do a great job.

Anna who helped me online was always very nice. She kept reminding me to leave this review and I did need reminding because they set me up so quickly and did everything so well I was able to jump right back into work without a second thought. So while it’s a bit late (my move was right after Xmas) I hope that this helps others understand just how awesome their customer service and moving team is. True Professionals.

OH OH OH …. hardwood floors. Presidio to Berkeley Condo….

These guys really tried to pay attention to NOT nic any floors or hurt the walls. ATTENTION to detail and moving fast? This crew deserves raises for sure.

After reading the reviews on yelp, I decided to use Northstar for my local move.  I was moving from a 1 bedroom apartment to a house.  I thought 3 movers was overkill but that was the minimum size for a local move.  The crew arrived on time, was very friendly and extremely helpful.  They helped help me properly dispose of an old entertainment center I wasn’t taking with me which wasn’t easy.  The floors in the home had just been refinished and the crew was extra careful not to scratch it.  They even helped me get a heavy sofabed into the guest room which had a very tight hallway.  It was like a rubix cube but they figured out how angle it in  I think I will have to disassemble it to get it out, it was that hard.  Best of all they finished almost exactly at the three hour minimum.  Overall a great experience for something as miserable as moving  I would definitely use them again for my next move.

These guys were great!  They called me two hours before they were set to arrive.  They showed up on time, with three guys and a HUGE truck to move all of my things.  We were moving into a newly remodeled home with the original hardwood floors and I was very nervous about damaging the fresh paint and refinished floors.  They were GREAT, fast, and took care of my new home and my belongings.  I would use them again… but hopefully not for a while!  🙂  They called me to check in after the move to make sure that everything had gone smoothly.  Apparently, they now have an estimator who will come out and do a free estimate with a “do not exceed” clause for your move.  That way you’ll know the most you’ll be expected to pay.  Great movers!

We moved in early January using NorthStar Moving Company and it was the best moving experience I’ve ever had. Alan M., Antonio C., and Marco A. were super fast, helpful and just generally on the ball. I also loved that when we booked Northstar they let us know about a Yelp discount coupon which saved us some money on the move. Not every day that a company directs you to save money. Will for sure be using them again.

This was my first time using NorthStar Moving Co. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Ron Cohen, estimator, answered my questions patiently and timely and made the whole process seamless. The movers (Omar, Francisco, Jose and Joshua) were a great team. If I have to move again, they would be my first choice. They showed up close to the scheduled time, went right to work, worked efficiently and worked hard. These guys clearly knew what they were doing and gave helpful suggestions to ensure nothing was broken. They also had a great attitude and clearly showed they enjoyed their job, which helped put me at ease. Customer Service was sharp and helpful. Was very pleased to end up paying less than the NTE quote and using the Yelp coupon. If I could give this company more than 5 stars, I would.

NorthStar’s five stars are very much deserved. I can say, hands down, that in the past 14 years of moving around, I have never had such a wonderful moving experience.

Ron, our estimator, was friendly, efficient and honest. He gave us a great quote, offered us useful moving advice and we actually ended up paying less than he originally quoted us.

The movers treated our things with respect. We didn’t really experience any damage to our belongings, which was a lovely surprise. And the whole process was headache-free.

I’ve been recommending NorthStar to everyone under the sun (awful pun intended).

Well I had my third move with NorthStar Moving Company and they did an amazing job once again. They where on time , great guys that moved me very nice a friendly . The guys are aways quick , they know their job and do it well . Nothing was broken . They place everything in your new home nicely and that is great for me because I have very heavy furniture ,they go the extra mile for you . I feel lucky I found NorthStar they have great customer service ! There are a lot of shady moving companies out there and you will never have to worry about that with NorthStar, super professional . We used North Star because we saw them working at our friend moving. This was my first moving inside the US and I will use them again next time! We hadn’t to worry about anything because Diego, Marcos, and Peyton took care of all our stuff. The price was great and we also got the Yelp deal. The customer service was helpful and easy to contact, even through email. We boxed almost everything and they wrapped the rest of our furniture. Everything was quick and smooth, we cannot desire anything more! Everything was done in 3 hours! We highly recommend them if you want to avoid any issue with your moving and to save your time and your money. Don’t forget to ask for Diego, Marcos, and Peyton, they were unbelievable!

Northstar Movers are awesome! We used them for a second time this past December. It was pouring rain and the guys were as helpful and friendly as could be, even though it was freezing outside! They’re prices are very affordable and the best money you will ever spend, unless you enjoy hauling all of your heavy furniture up to your second floor! Give them a try, you won’t be dissapointed!

Northstar Moving Company just completed my move yesterday the 15th of January. My family moved from a 3,000 sq ft home to a 1,350 sq ft rental. Javier was the forman. He and his crew were amazing. Loading a full house and moving into a smaller home is very difficult. Much of the furniture was very heavy or delicate and they packaged everything extremely carefully. The team was courteous and professional. They loaded all storage furniture and boxes into the garage and even rearranged the boxes and furniture when we realized it could fit better with a different configuration. I am very impressed and will be calling on them again when we move in a year. I will ask for Javier. As a side note, we received a quote and the total was less than what was quoted.

I absolutely loved these guys and the job thy did. Everything went perfectly from the scheduling to the arrival time to the completion. And I even got an extra guy for free because i booked in the afternoon and they had a guy on board from an earlier job. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

I have used NorthStar twice since 2009. They are an amazing, efficient, and professional company. 1st Move: In Summer of ’09, I had to go, unexpectedly, out-of-town on the same weekend my wife and I were to move apartments. Normally we move ourselves by renting a U-Haul, but this would be too burdensome with just one of us. So we checked out NorthStar and they gave us a rate that we thought was high – around $109/hr – but we were assured great service. Sure enough, it was the best idea yet. My wife called me (I was in Atlanta the morning of the move) and told me the movers packed and unloaded everything within 4 hours. She said the three workers moved so fast that she barely had the time to do a final “check” of the apartment. Because her experience was so good, we decided to hire them again in March of 2012 for our move form the Valley to the Westside. No last minute getaways for me this time around, so I was able to see how fast these guys work firsthand. We hired them for a Friday morning move – roughly 9am – and they packed, drove, and unloaded eveything by 2pm. These guys were tough, carrying heavy pieces of furniture up stair cases without pause or complaint. With tip, the move cost us around $700, but it is worth every cent. I didn’t throw out my back, I didn’t have to return a run-down U-Haul, and we were able to get the house in order before the weekend was through. I will always go with NorthStar for future moves. I moved in a new construction condo, and they had ridiculously complicated moving regulations. NorthStart was one of their preferred movers and after getting a quote, I decided to work with them. The Yelp discount deal also helped me to make a call. 

From 1br to 1br, within a city. They sent a working manager with two staffs. Working very hard and fast, and efficient. The whole moving time took around 5 hrs, but probably we wasted one hours for covering up all the hall ways, which was one of moving regulations. Above all things, they were super friendly with smiles and have awesome customer service 🙂 

Very professional, nice attitude, friendly customer service within reasonable price!

What can I say? I utilized this company again and once again, their handling of my relocation was First Class. Not only did Tony, Carl, and Jose arrive on time, and didn’t have to relocate very far, communications were excellent … every question and concern was addressed immediately … they always asked where they should place anything and everything … they delivered my goods in excellent condition … they totally completed my move with ease, professionalism, carefulness, and courtesy. Although I hope to never move again, I wouldn’t use anyone other than NorthStar. Thanks a million yet again Tony (as he assisted on my last move). Perfect score and very highly recommended…
