We checked out two moving companies and Northstar offered the best service and price for the job. Ron was our contact person and came out and gave us our estimate. He did a great job in outlining all the details and how things would go. Everything went so well, just as he had said. The moving crew worked so well together, they were quick and careful with our belongings. The move came in under the estimate, which we greatly appreciated. I hope we don’t move again, but if we do, Northstar will be the one we’ll use.

The bad news: I had to move twice twice this year. The good news: I used Northstar Moving twice this year. After a great experience with Northstar in June, it was a no-brainer which company I’d be calling in December to help again. Moving still sucks, but with Northstar, I don’t have to worry about the heavy stuff, protecting furniture, transportation, or loading/unloading everything. * Get the Yelp Deal: $50 for $125 of service. * Hourly rate for 3-man crew was $115/hr (3 hr min + 30 min drive time min) * Service on the phone was quick and easy. Email confirmation even easier. * Box up as much as you can before they arrive to speed things up * Wardrobe boxes are provided free. So wait for most of the clothes on hangers * Tape & Shrinkwrap isn’t free or very expensive. Ours was about $45 * The crew brought plenty of packing blankets to protect all the furniture * They take care of taking apart and putting back together beds, tables, etc. * Biggest tip: Donate or give way a bunch of stuff you don’t use to save time/space * Giving water and tipping was worth it because the guys were fast & efficient * 3% discount for Cash, but cards are accepted. * Our move time was 5 hours 30 minutes. I can’t imagine it being any faster or easier. Hopefully, we won’t be moving anytime soon, however, if we do, I’ll be calling Northstar Moving again.

Northstar made my move super easy. The movers took good care of my furniture, were on time, and were friendly. They wrapped everything that was in question carefully. The representative I spoke with was so professional she made the entire experience a pleasure. Their prices are very competitive. I’ll definitely use them again.

Yes, the reviews are very true! These guy rock! They not only for me personally, my clients hire them to move huge estates for reality shows. I have used movers for my past 5 moves and these gentlemen were the best. The girls in the office who first contacted me were very helpful. Because I was worried about the costs they offered to have an estimator come to my home for free and give me a “not to exceed” price. When Ron arrived at the house he was professional and very nice. He explained how everything would work and looked to make sure I did not need extra packing help or more boxes, etc.. He was even encouraging and supportive about the MESS which was my house. He gave me a few options to save me some money and I was very happy with the price. When the movers showed up they were on time and very nice. I had two deliveries to make and they organized everything perfectly. Both drop offs went smooth and they actually finished before we had expected so they saved me a little bit of money. YAY!! Nothing was damaged or dirty and they set up the rooms just like I wanted. I was so impressed. I will be recommending them to all my friends and family for sure. It is worth the money to have peace of mind.

Great job! Team of guys were super efficient, very careful with antique furniture. One of the movers even hugged my 80-year old great aunt and gave me some chess tips. In a word, wow.

Amazing customer service! I was so stressed out about moving but they went above and beyond to make sure it went as smoothly as possible.

I didn’t have much time to figure out how I was going to move out of a 2-bedroom into a 1-bedroom. About a week before our move-in date, I called NorthStar and spoke with Jackie, who seamlessly set up the move for me. She also encouraged me to buy the Yelp deal so that I could save some money.

When there was a mix-up with the new landlord about when we could receive our keys, I called Jackie to change the moving day and she quickly sent a confirmation email with the new date. 

When the condo’s building manager said he needed to see the moving company’s certificate of insurance 3 business days before the move was scheduled, I called Jackie again. Her co-worker Stefy ensured that all of the condo’s requirements were met and faxed the documentation to them by the next morning.

The movers were scheduled to arrive between 8 and 10. Jesus and his team showed up a little before 9am. They efficiently packed our TV and moved quickly, despite the building’s old, tiny elevator. Everything was in their truck in less than an hour and a half. They managed to move everything into our new place in roughly an hour, and nothing was broken. All throughout the process, Jesus and his team did everything they could to ensure that moving was less stressful for me.

After the move, Jackie called to follow up and make sure that the movers had met our expectations (of course they did!). This was my first time not renting a U-Haul or cajoling some friend with a truck into helping me move, and I can honestly say that it was worth every penny to hire NorthStar to help with the move.

After having a few hellish moving experiences, I was filled with trepidation going into my last move. Post-researching about 5 million moving companies, and even making appointments with a few, I spoke with Lynn from NorthStar on the phone. Though NorthStar is a little pricey on a per hour basis, the $125 off Yelp deal placed NorthStar within competitive pricing with other movers I’d spoken to, and I was sold. When I told other moving companies that I was going with NorthStar, ever single one told me that NorthStar was a great moving company. Their competition! I know, right?!   

My NorthStar movers showed up ready to work, were kind, and extremely courteous. They never complained about the size of my big, awkward furniture, never stopped working, and got all of my pieces to my new place. In one piece. Without any scratches. And with a smile. If you’ve ever moved you’re probably going “whoa– seriously? In one piece AND with a smile?!?” But NorthStar has shown me it can be done. I will use NorthStar in all my moves going forward, and recommend them to all of my friends. 

A special shout out to my movers, Jose Antonio, Jose Barraza, and Francisco Fernandez, who were awesome and made my experience so easy. If any NorthStar execs are reading this– these guys should get a raise! 😉

This was a local move within the city. I’ve pared down my stuff to a smallish set (see George Carlin “stuff” routine).  Some assembly / disassembly required and a few flights of stairs. 

They sent a working manager with 2 staff. Nemer was my guy and he brought along the 2 Rodolphos. 

Bottom line is the truck and the help were more than enough for my stuff, and they took care of everything within the estimated time with no surprise charges or other issues. 

Perfect job. Nice guys. And working the weekend with no breaks.

This is actually the first Yelp review I’ve ever written. Recently used NorthStar for the second time for our relatively close move from Santa Monica to Culver City. Submitted my info on their website and quickly received a call to schedule the move. Was informed by Ted Tindall that I could purchase a voucher on Yelp for $50 that would give me $125 off my move (looks like that has since changed to $100). On the day of the move, Allen and crew showed up right on time, even though they were coming from a move in Irvine. I can’t say enough about their level of professionalism. The company has a 3 hour minimum (which I suspect is pretty standard), and our move took 3.25 hours. Such a painless experience, I will never move again without calling NorthStar. Cannot recommend enough.

Used NorthStar Moving a 2nd time and again impressed with outstanding service. The guys were not only on time but moved quickly to get my stuff out of storage and into an apt. Not to mention Diana Vargas was amazing!! She helped me schedule and reschedule my move several times as I was out of the country and dates of arrival kept moving around. She was so easy to work with and really helpful. I would definitely use them again, and recommend to friends and family!

The movers had great attitudes and worked hard. While we only went one mile, we sure had a lot of stuff. I have lost the card they gave me with their names (gimme a break, I just moved!) but I know one guy was Augustine. Good guys, got it done. Thanks!

I have used NSM as my moving company for my last 3 moves and each time was better than the next! This move took me from the valley to city and it was quick and painless.. not to mention very affordable! I was helped by a great 3 man crew that compromised of Mike Ktcham, Freddie Ortiz, and Jose Prada.. They were fast, professional, and very courteous… There are many options out there but when moving next look no further than NorthStar Movers!

Northstar Moving was amazing !! They had me moved in half the time I was expecting. Their staff was pleasant and very knowledgeable about everything !!! Moving isn’t fun and they just made everything easy for me !!!
